I've had CHF for six years. The first five I exercised by walking at cardiac rehab. Did o.k. but on Oct 31, 2001 opted for the new Insync pacemaker. Did well for almost a year until I went to an electrophysiologist in Houston(I was going to try to get into the stem-cell program of the Texas Heart Institute, but Dr. Perin wanted my pacemaker checked) so, I went and that Expert doubled the pace time on the pace-naker. I had seven(7) episodes with the ICD in a row. It alnost killed me. Now I can't drive anymore( which by itself is a killer) and I'm having to slowly rebuild my walking. Now I never know when I may be shocked, or if it will stop with oone or keep shocking until I'm dead. But one still hopes for the best. I have hired a Ph.D food nutritionist and I think it will help. But I've just started with this, but will let everyone know what is happening as this modum of therapy continues. JAT
