Sorry to hear you are having problems so young and hope my message is encouraging, not discouraging. My husband too had some very similar issues, genetically high cholesterol and had a massive heart attack at 43. He had triple by-pass (all before I knew him) and did well with the surgery and medication including lipitor for many years. Since then he had another heart attack in 1999, a stint put in place as well as a pacemaker and defibulator then a second stint in May of this year. He is now critically ill as his ejection fracture rate has decreased to only 12 to 15%, and only a heart transplant would offer him any longevity.
Unfortunately he is now in intensive care and in congestive heart failure on a ventilator. He has had some very good years though with his health and is now 70 years old. A very young 70 year old and father to our twin seven year old daughters.
My advise is to keep exercising, eating healthy and look into the benefits of bi-ventricular pacing. My husband is too unhealhty at this point for consideration, but it is suppose to help tremendously with low EJF. Best of luck to you. - Rosemary Florez
