I too was diagnosed with CHF due to a virus in Feb. 2006. Talk about a shock! Was very upset and depressed when I first found out and thought I would die soon.
After educating myself on CHF, I hope this is not the case.
I am 46 year old female who lives in Staten Island, NY and work in NY, NY.
My EF at diagnois was 20 (have not had an echo done since, but prob will have to have one soon). I had a cath in the hosp. was fine no blockages. Had a pet scan done to see if there were any tumors on my heart, thank goodness there were not (sometimes tumors on the heart can mimic symptoms of CHF). End of Aug have to have a stress test. I also have/had a enlarged heart with fluid around it. I also have a fast hearbeat and was all set to go for a defib when my CHF specialist at Columbia Pres Hosp told me to hold off and so far with meds my heart beat is down to 96 from 120.
How are you coping. My 17 year old cat died about 2 months ago and I just got a new kitten so she keeps me comforted and also I like to read.
Please tell me your experiences and advice on CHF.
