  • advice on sealīs fur

      Dear Manfred,
Thanks for a great site. I need advice on the absolutely best way of bleaching and colour-washing of sealīs fur. I have obtained about 1 1/2 cubic meters(!) of sealīs fur of the best quality, two fur coats coloured reddish and dark brown. I feel a little shell-shocked as I paid 300 Skr for both - last I bought sealīs fur in tiny packages in Haparanda for 30 Skr a piece. Acc to Lennart Bergqvistīs book materials can be bleached with the same bleaches as the hairdressers use - is this so. Where can standard colours be obtained for a good price (Veniardīs?). I have dyed some using Dylon but that is not on the market anymore. I would even be very interested in swapping some of this huge amount of sealīs fur with somebody for blue/yellow macaw.
Are there any swap sites for serious classic tyers,
preferably in Sweden or in Stockholmas I live there.
At last, that is my tips to fly-tyers: keep an eye on the second-hand shops and flea-markets; you never know what you can find!
