Don’t be a fool!!!

DEMON38: Yet you ignore examples of asexual organisms that produce novel new functions from mutations. We see bacteria that mutate whole new metabolic pathways, the means to survive on whole new food stuffs. Not from a mixing of alleles, since they are asexual, but from mutations. In other words, we see actually see "new information" arising. Your pint is disproven.

DOUBLE SHALOM: Don’t be a fool!!! The trouble with such experiments is that it relies on the assumption that there was no bacteria variety capable of metabolizing sugar in the first population. Only a fool jumps to a conclusion that a positive mutation has made it possible for bacteria to metabolize sugar. Need for energy and capability to metabolize sugar acting as natural selection were disturbing the random distribution of the alleles in the population of bacteria thereby driving statistics away from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. In plain English, there was change in allele frequency but there was no positive mutation nor speciation. Simply put: you are failing to go past the peppered moth phenomena – micro evolution. That is just natural selection. Change in allele frequencies in populations over time does not cause speciation. Try again.
