Evolution!

How is everyone doing? Long time no see.

Anyway, I just wanted to comment on some silly comments I head from a Christian friend of mine. As some of you may know, I no longer believe in creationism or intelligent design, and I have accepted evolution as the explanation to our origins, and life on earth.

So, I was having a little debate with a friend of mine and she used a rather ridiculous analogy. She was talking about how all things have a design to them and how they must be designed. Then she asks me: “So, what do you believe, in regards to our Universe, do you think it came about through an intelligent cause or it came about through coincidence.”

This lead upon me pointing out to her how species adapt to the environment and I explained to her that when a species adapts to a virus or pesticide, the immune system learns and passes it on and there is no intelligence designer needed to do that. It runs on its own and over a course of time, great amount of changes happen without needing someone to run it. My friend then went on about some stupid analogy that made no sense to me at all. She started talking about how genetics have limits. I asked her to explain these limits. She then said: “do you think that with these adoptions that take place over time, that people will be one day be able to walk on the sun and not get burned?”

I was caught off-guard at the stupidity of the question. I tried to explain to her that the answer she gave didn’t fit with what I said. Anyway, how would you guys have answered her on that stupid sun-walking comment?
