I would like to present an idea. Perhaps Special Creation is spiritual?
In other words it is the idea that God created man a soul thru supernatural means.
If this idea is correct then it really does not matter how our physical bodies came to be, nor what shape they are. God could have given man a soul somewhere along the line of evolution, seperating us from the rest of the animal kingdom. Making us unique and made in the image of God.
Does it really matter if someone has all four limbs or had his legs amputated? Does it matter if one has blue eyes or brown or if they are blind? What DOES matter from a religious standpoint is that we have a soul. Our soul goes to heaven not our physical bodies.
One could view evolution as explaining only how our physical bodies got here. We could then all go home and concentrate our activities on other things. You could still have daily devotions with prayer. Belief that man is special and made in the image of God, etc..
