be honest with yourself

Be honest with yourself - are you really saying that if you hadn't been introduced to a creationist/literalist form of religion based on a "revealed text", you would have formed the same opinions as you've written here, on a "designed" universe, that is simply by analysing these data?

Come on, who are you kidding?

You are starting from a particular religious stand point - which simply requires faith - and then you gather whatever "evidence" you can to support that faith-based opinion. If what you were engaged in was in any way scientific, you would be asking "what are the mechanisms by which the world is as it is?" - or even "what are the mechanisms by which God made and makes the world is as it is? - "not just stating "...err well God did it!"

Science tries to understand the mechanisms, the processes of the world. To do that you have to have an open mind - to the possibility that whatever you come up with MIGHT BE WRONG.

As soon as you put your faith in a revealed text and claim it as the unassailable truth - you are lost.
