Hugsby LolHappy birthday, Min. Very silly of your family to forget. I do know what you mean about suddenly feeling old. I'm going through the same thing, as are other friends around my age (23 if you want to know). I think 23 must be the first midlife crisis age (there are several) particularly when you hang around with people younger than you, which I do off this board as well as on it. BUT in the last few years think of all you have learnt, all you have changed. I wouldn't want to be 14 again, wouldn't want to be 18 again, hell, I don't think I'd even want to be 21 again. I feel I've grown emotionally and developed intellectually since then! But 23 is YOUNG, goddammit! Just think of all the things you haven't done and will do in the next sixty years, think of all the love, laughter, sex, friendship, clothes, books, music, angst and obsessions still to come. We aren't necessarily mature, but I guess we're well and truly adults (though young and beautiful ones), which *is* scary. That realisation is finally hitting home. I found not being a student any more terrifying as well. I was horrified to realise how much a part of my identity as well. I'm getting over that one at last, though. ;) Anyway, hope you don't mind the spiel. *birthday hug* Lol Goto Forum Home |
