QB valve seal modification to standard P.U O-ring

Looking at both sides of the issue, I'm thinking that home tweaker guys
might not want to send in their Stems if it's possible to DIY.
(That is, if they want to shoot again that month).

Perhaps there is a short-cut fix like dropping a thin plumbing gasket over the shaft?
Have to check that out.. Next time my QB starts leaking again.
