There is another treeing dog breed, whcih is neither hound or Cur Dog. This is the West Siberian Laika. Go to http://www.nordicart.multiservers.com/
for more information, but here I will tell everyone that all Laikas (100% of the puppies) start treeing naturally, just take him in woods and turn loose a few time every week. The dog will tree squirrels by day and coons by night. Moreover, he will tree or bay bears, bay wild boar and moose. My dogs tree gray foxes and groundhogs and, occasionally, bobcats, but raccoons and squirrels is their most frequent game. Laika hunts within close range, prefers hot tracks and barks well only when the animal is treed or bayed. This is a dog breed of professional hunters of Ural and Siberia who have lived off land in wilderness. Now, we have over 100 Laikas in the USA and almost all of them are in hands of hunters.
