I really need the help of all you guys on here because it's one thing talking about it but it's another thing actually doing something about it. The more the picture is stil on the net, the more attention it will gain and as Riv's cousin said, the family just want to live in peace. I understand from what Riv's cousin said about the family trying to get to the bottom of what happened at the funeral home. I wish them the best of luck with that. I really need to know where this Frank guy can be found and i'm not going to be able to do it alone so could anyone help me please? Just remember that you're doing this for Riv and i'm sure he (in heaven) would thank you for doing this.

Thanks for taking the time out to read this and thanks for listening

Hi River-Fan! I can only thank you for your efforts regarding this cause as it means alot to me as a family member.

Unfortunately, the ball is already rolling as of 11 years ago when the pic was taken, and the Net cannot be monitored. (Believe me, I have tried) What we want to do now is stop something like this form happening so there will not be a picture like this again to be upset about. THANK YOU AGAIN!

...thanks for thanking me for the effrts of getting the picture taken of this site. I agree with you when you say that this should never happen again but unless we do something about it, something like this will slip through the net and we'll be on here again probably in a matter of years talking about this that's happened to someone else.

i'm glad that the ball is rolling and i'll do anything I can to help. I know it will be really hard for you and all the family after 11 years but just think of it as this, when you get the bottom of this, only then can you, his family and him be at peace

love river-fan

Anonymous River Fan, are you not old enough and mature enough to be able to censor your own internet viewing? If you don't like the photo, don't look at it. Why should your personal opinions about the photo have any effect on what other people can view on the internet.

You should worry about yourself, not others. If others don't want to see the photo, they don't have to click on the link. Plain and simple. the link is properly labeled, people. Don't click on it if you don't want to see it, but stop trying to censor my internt viewing!

...not old enough? who the fuck are you to have a go at me? for your information, i'm 19 and i'm mature enough to be on here. you were the opne that said that some people on here don't respect river and i have nothing but respect for him. all the drug shit aside, you were the one that made that comment so don't you come on here if you have got nothing but respect for him

i think i've spoken for everyone on here by saying this

sorry if i've offended anyone but this was really pissing me off and i just really needed to say something about it

Should probably try to keep the language down a bit. Doesn't offend me but it might someone else.

You have stated that you want someone to take down the photo of River in his casket. By stating this you are saying that you want your internet viewing habits to be monitored and censored by someone else. But I think that you are old enough to make your own decisions about what you want to see on the web. Who do you trust to decide what you can and can't look at on the internet? Do you want someone to make those decisions for you? I hope not.

Therefore I don't want you or anyone else making those decisions for me. Why does it bother some people so much that the photo is on the net. Don't worry about it. Those who don't want to see it, don't have to look at it.

I don't have respect for River. I lost all respect for him when he downed enough drugs to kill a healthy horse. I do not blindly throw my respect and admiration around at drug users. Sorry!

People! stop worshipping River and worship someone else. He is no longer worthy.

People! saying you want the photo taken down. Surely you don't want other people banning things on the internet. You don't know what can of worms you may be opening. Try to access the we from China or North Korea if you want your web surfing censored.

No I do not like the photo. But I understand that there are people who do want to look at the photo. But who am I to try to take it down so they can't look at it. If they want to see it, they should have that right. Very simple.

OK OK OK! JiggyJam....i have to agree with you! The answer now is plain and simple....If you dont like the photo, dont look at it....if you dont mind seeing someone in their coffin...go for it...but im still against the fact that someone put it on the bloody minternet on the first place!

anonymous; i respect river for his talent, but not for his addiction. i can understand some of the possible reasons for his addiction, but it does not mean that i condone it. i don't see a problem in "worshipping" river, but as long as its for the right reasons.

should i feel bad for enjoying the wizard of oz simply because judy garland was off her face on uppers and downers at the time?
should i feel bad for enjoying the blues brothers due to john belushi's rampant cocaine habit?
the logical answer to these questions is no.

the trick is to divorce his talent from the manner of his death. the only positive thing to come out of his death (and i assume even jiggy jam would kinda agree with this) is that people can identify with river, and putting a human face to the tragedy could make other young people think twice before getting involved with drugs themselves.

Hey Ana and Ally!

Both of your posts - I believe - are right on . But this:

"should i feel bad for enjoying the wizard of oz simply because judy garland was off her face on uppers and downers at the time?"

To me personally, the Judy Garland rips my heart actually. She was a kid, a young teenager, when doctors AND her own mother (so the story goes) started giving her uppers to keep her weight down, and downers to go to sleep, uppers to wake up again, etc. etc. She was about 14 years old I think. A kid.

Would like to kick their ass too. The mom and makers of Wizard that is. They knew what they were doing, and didn't care. Now Judy? Poor kid just did what she was told till she was too addicted to know right from wrong. Ooooh - makes me mad!

It's OK to like Wizard of Oz and Blues Brothers. But it would be a bit disturbing if you visited websites praising Garland and Belushi for what "great and wonderful" people they were. You can like Stand By Me, but your "starry eyed, nothing bad ever happened" admiration for River is disturbing.

You can't disassociate his bad side from his good. He represents drugs as much as he represents Stand By Me. Unfortunately that's the way it is.

Why are you not praising Courtney Love for her charity work? Let's talk about her music or her great performance in The People vs. Larry Flint. OJ Simpson did a lot of charity work for homeless and neighborhood revitalization. Shall we start a website praising his goodness? (Oh yeah...he was innocent) To mention their good sides without addressing their bad sides would be very hypocritical.

If you want to visit websites and bad-mouth River's drug use, that would be appropriate. But to post and praise him without mentioning his association with the underground drug scene, is turning a blind eye to the world.

Rock on Jiggy. That's the epitome of the last 2 days. Fans are going to HAVE to accept the fact that River was an addict. Please for the love of God, NO ONE should be kidding themselves that he was a casual user. I've been doing this too long to know better. Good person? I'm sure he was. Bad habits? YES! And they killed him. Happy now?

Take a look at gangsta rap as well. Somehow, a whole generation has found good in glorifying gang violence, black on black crime, and has made it okay to carry a peice and blow any poor bastard away because they got "disrespected". Uh huh. Yeah - what a real bad ass.

They make good music sometimes - I guess it depends on your style of music. But to take it seriously? Stupid. Eminem has some take off of toy soldiers out now - once again glorifying the deaths of rappers who got snuffed out by a Tek 9, Mac 10, 9mm, the whole lot. Lovely. As Frankie Lymon would say "Goody goody for him - goody goody for me - and I hope your satisfied you rascal you". And Frankie Lymon btw? Another fine talented man who wasted away and dies by lethal heroin o.d. on his grandmothers bathroom floor. Way to go for a teen idol. Just like River. Just like Belushi. Just like Farley. Just like Garland.

Are some of you guys who want to ignore River as an addict see where we are going with this?

Hollywood wants soooo bad for everyone to see them as a heroes. Uuummmm - don 't think so. If you want to see a hero - go visit a fireman. How about an EMT even? But since they are not CELEBRITIES - what would be the fun (or FANTASY) in that?

Hey Ally!

And a "rat a tat tat" back at ya ! I'm so awesome with my sticks I'm just like James Brown - can't help myself !!!!!

I am just glad that you Ally and other young people like you aren't fooled by the razzle dazzle of Hollywood. We all have stars we like - but don't be fooled by their pedastal. Good for you and Ana !

Btw - Sandra Bullock? Yeah! She's cool! Sorry about the Lindsay Lohan comment - but by your reaction - I think my point was made - hehe! If I were Lindsay Lohan, I'd have to fake who I was too - wooohoooo!

And Jiggy? Yeah - He's Charlie Sheen alright! Snicker, snicker!

Hey Jiggy - considering that you've had interludes galore with Madonna by six degrees of Kevin Bacon...I would suppose treating your body like an amusement park is open for debate? Oooohhhh geez - why oh why am I having this discussion???? Because that comment by Jiggy a while back caught me off guard and made me laugh - and I mean really, REALLY laugh. I needed a good laugh today. Even if it came at poor Jiggy's expense (Pun intended for everything it's worth - bwahahahaha!)

Hey Ally!

Yeah - the joking I belive is the best medicine for most - especially during stress. It doesn't happen automatically, but there comes a moment, when all the planets line up I suppose , the a titter of laughter is the only thing that gets you through some bad times. Every now and then, a news crew will catch a cop laughing at a crime scene. While it may look disrepectful to some, I assure you, there is no disrespect intended. Making a quirky joke (even if it's not a real funny one) is the only thing that keeps you from breaking down.

The past few days have been a wreck - no pun intended. A father and his 3 daughters. Only 2 caskets could be open, those being of the 2 youngest daughters. I have to see late teens and adults alike get snuffed out every day by their own doing. Drugs, drink, suicide. But a child? Innocent children whose life is now over before they ever had a chance to begin? I think I've explained enough why my tolerance level for drug users is nada. They do it to themselves. Those babies on the other hand? Gone. Over. And they did NOTHING to deserve such a fate. Neither did the mother - who now has NO children left to hold in her arms again. Ever.

I hear people cry for River and ignore his drug habits. Will they cry for these inocent children? Not only are their eyes blind to facts - but their hearts are void as well. It's their imagination that keeps them motivated. Humph. I only WISH I was imagining things at the funeral. So was the mother. So was the entire town.
