Hey Confused -

It's just the 911 call made public when Phoenix collapsed outside on the sidewalk. They played it on some tabloid show, Hard Copy, Entertainment Tonite, one of those.

Yeah that is sad! Lol btw...my name is now Ally.m...im still the same old aussie ally, just...a different name :S!....! lol! Lol, i also must agree with...'long silence..' ChickenFlaps...ahem..cough cough.. i must agree with chickenflaps post! I just dont get why people why have no realation to him would have a big cry over him, especially when they were just fans! I mean, they dont really know what he was like...they could only read about hima and assume thats what he was like!

Some people in posts ages ago said something, or someone wrote in a poem how they cry every night! Ill just say now...'WHY'? Why put yourself through that! I can imagine at the time of his death..like in the first few weeks, months or in the first year, his fans would be pretty upset because they had lost what they thought was their role model..or hero...sure they might be upset and cry a little bit...but why now! We can mourne, and i suppose his fans are still showing respect today, but seriously guys....crying?! ook! His family and freinds..i dont blame! I mean THEY were related and connected with him, so they have their experiences and memories with him...but what have the fans got? A big blown up photo of him! Thats a bout it!

Its poot Joaquin coz he was the one who made the 911 call which is on the tape in question, the tape that was on all the time around the time of Rivers death reminding the Phoenix's of that awful night, so thats why its ppor Joaquin, but of course, the rest of the family, we feel awful for them too.

right let me clear this up hust before i hear the wrong information AGAIN!!! for the last time it WASN'T joaquin who dialled 911 you wet ends, it was the photographer ron davis. i thought all of you 'so-called' fans would have known this as this is what it said on the 'Eclipsed By Death - The Life Of River Phoenix' on the Biography Channel. on the sidewalk outside the viper room, river stayed conscious long enough to see a photographer leaning over him but no pictures were taken. ron chose not to phototgraph river because he said it would have haunted him for the rest of his life. ron said that river was like a fish out of water. he made the call. i know

Hey Anonymous/River_Fan1985 -

Chill if you are so inclined, please? The reason why there is some confusion is because of the below article (and others) taken from Cosmopolitan April 1995 issue:

"At the third seizure, Ron Davis, who never attempted to take a photograph, ran into Turner's liquor store on the corner of Larabie and Sunset Boulevard and dialed 911. When he came out, he discovered that Leaf had also dialed for an ambulance at 1:10 a.m.

"My brother's having seizures!" Leaf screamed into the phone, as his sister still lay over their brother and hysterical Samantha Mathis paced up and down the sidewalk where River was lying. "You must get over here, please. You must get over here, please," he pleaded. When the dispatcher attempted to calm him down, telling him to "take it easy," Leaf said, "Now I'm thinking he's had Valium or something. You must get here, please, because he's dying."

After making his 911 call, Leaf put his arm around River and desperately started to try to reassure his elder brother that he was going to be all right. "

'River looked up at his brother Leaf while laying in his arms on the sidewalk and said 'No Papperazi, I want anonymity." And sank back into unconsciousness'!
Photographer Ron Davis respected Rivers wishes, along with the rest of the photographers, and took no photos! Ron Davis found himself praying for River to have another seizure, because it meant River was still alive! Finally after 8 minuits of seizures which seemed like an eternity, River Phoenix lay still! Terrified that his brother had died, Leaf shouted, 'oh my god, hes not breathing'! Btw someone asked me what band was playing that night! To answer the question, Flea, Rio's best buddy was playing along side Johnny Depp, and other members of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers!

Plus Johnny owned the Viper Room at the time, so if he had not been there, he probably would've been called to come in since someone was dying outside his club. He was given alot of scrutiny for the fact that people were openly taking drugs in a back room at his club.

People also tried to claim that Johnny was the one who gave River the lethal dose that killed him, but I definetly beleve that to be a rumor.

Johnny finally talked about it once in an interview where he said something about how happy River was that night, and how beautiful it was that he had his girlfriend and his guitar on his arm when he came to the club.

Johnny owned the Viper Room up until a few months ago, and finally sold it off. He didn't want to have anything more to do with it, but he comes back twice a year to play with his band. Once every six months. Sometimes he'll invite Oasis o play too and he plays with them.

I still remember hearing it back when it all happened, mostly because I identified with Joaquin. My sister died around the time the tapes were released from drugs, and the tone of his call was heart wrenching. It's one of those things you're not better off hearing and witnessing someone else's sorrow and pain, and it will stick with you for a long while. And not in a good way.

I heard that there were two people who made a 911 call, the photgrapher (sorry, I cant remember his name) and Joaquin, I dont want to have to quote but the one that Joaquin did says "Its my brother..." in it, so it has to be Joaquin, and you really shouldnt call people wet ends, its just a mistake on someones part, you dont have to get angry so fast.
