I was curious if anybody knew where I could find an audio clip of the 911 call River's younger brother Joaquin made on the night of his death.

Seriously guys, i know you're very curious about what it sounds like. But i've heard it, and it's not something you want to remember. He's very frantic and crying. I was curious too and i found it from another board, and now i regret listening to it. It really depressed me. So just to let you know, you're probably better off not listening to it. Just warning you.

Same here Alexia. It was played over and over again after his death on several different entertainment news shows and such. I heard once that it can be found at mp3 swapping sites like Napster or Kazaa, but I'm not a member of either site so I couldn't say for certain.

I've heard it several times in the past. Yes - it is sad. All 911 calls usually are.

Hey Kelly!

I'll chime in on your post if I may . When it comes to Rivers 911 call, or for that matter just about any celebrities 911 calls, it sounds very distant - surreal even. Meaning - celebrities are some of the most pampered, spoiled people in the entire world - only next to royalty I assume. I'm not saying that to be critical. I'm saying that because when a celebrity has a drug problem - every rehab is at their disposal to seek help. Lord knows they have the funds and money for it. Hell - it might even help their career like it did Mackenzie Phillips - or Robert Downey Jr., Charlie Sheen, etc., etc. Celebrities have every opportunity to have the best of EVERYTHING. But tend to squander these opportunities on a regular basis.

Now take a listen (if you can stomach it that it) to the 911 calls of the victims of 9/11 here in the states. Or for Londons 7/7. Even the text messages left by family when the plane was going down over Greece a few days ago. It is some of ther most heart-wrenching words and emotion you will ever hear in your entire life. For me - it's because these are just every day people just trying to get to work, and make a living. NOT the spoiled celebrity who parties all night, over-dosing their drugs, all the while sitting on millions.

I will defend the hard working, good hearted people in this world every single time. But when it comes to the pansy celebrity trying desperately to see out attention through protests and movies, only to die like your average junkie in their home or on the street, it's down right pitiful. That junkie who dies penniless and buried in the paupers grave probably never had 2 nickles to put together for rehab. But celebrities DO. Many just don't care it seems .

Hey Kelly!

In my opinion, you ARE right. It IS an intrusion when we dig up the personal info on celebs - morbid or not - for our own satisfaction. And yet isn't that EXACTLY what celebrities do in the first place?

It's the biggest "tail wagging the dog I have ever seen". Hollywood today that is. Gone are the days of Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, and Marlon Brando. Each one of these celebrities had their own demons to live with (did they ever!), but if you look back - their movies and work were top quality. They had alot of heart too - despite the drinking, the depression and all the goods that go with it. We all remember Brandos protest against the oppression of the Native Americans when he refusewd to accept his Oscar, right? Now THAT is serious Hollywood!

Todays's Hollywood however - is more "opportunist" than it is skill. The opportunity the stake your claim in a protest, be it political or religious, and all the yada yada yada that goes with it. Making controversial movies in order gain sympathy from the unknowing audience. What the celebrities fail to tell you, is that in their "pilgramage" to "inform" the "world" of the "social injustices" (Gawsh, I'm starting to sound like Bono), do they ever seek the permission and guidance of the REAL VICTIMS of their movies? Nope. Sure - they will make a movie and take your money thank you very much . But do they ever show the victims family the same consideration and sympathy? Absolutely not. If they did, that means they would have to make a movie about the TRUTH. And God forbid, if Hollywood ever exposed the TRUTH about their movies or lives they try to impersonate. Hell if they did that - River would have been exposed as an addict a looooong time ago. Probably may still be alive today making as much as Tom Cruise. Who knows? The fact is - he held his standards high in the public eye to keep his popularity, and his $$$, all the while living no different than the average junkie in the lower districts.

When Hollywood stops putting on airs, lies, and deceit - and start living REALITY, I am sure I would be more sympathetic. But as of today, when a celebrity O.D.s, or is divorced, or is stalked - I honestly have to say I am not surprised. Not in the very least. I give my hard earned money, and heartache at that, to the people who have worked their tails off in this world and barely able to make ends meet in this God awful economy, and STILL manage to stay clean despite the obstacles and depression that is bound to come. But for a celebrity? Sorry guys - I have no regard.

Oh I'll admit, they are good "entertainment" that's for sure . But I wouldn't idolize them, and sure as hell wouldn't change my mind politically, religiously, or theoretically because a celebrity thinks I should. I STILL have the same backbone I was born with - and it's a pretty strong one . I can't say the same for the ever-chameleon Hollywood. And that's too bad

Thanks for letting me blab myself

Hey, I was also curious as to what the audio sounded like, but then I decided to read up on his younger brother first. (I know I have way too much time on my hands) But it appeared that the incident left him on such a state, that I feel bad that I even considered listening to it. As many people have stated. It is an incredibly personal, and private thing to have exposed, and is wrong that so many people want to listen to it.

LOL! "This is a song written about a man in a shanty town outside of Johannesburg. A man who's sick of looking down the barrel of white South Africa. A man who is at the point where he is ready to take up arms against his oppressor..."

Hey ICU! How are ya? All excellent points, btw - AS USUAL.

Just for the record, the text message(s) from the Greece plane crash that were picked up and reported by EVERY news agency in the world were in fact LATER determined to have been a horrible hoax. What a sad way for someone to seek attention by making up something like that.....

it was on the news a couple of days after the crash, the guy was arrested when the police had found proof that the message was false. don't know what that proof was, but it might have had something to do with pin pointing the mobile phone signal (evidence that has been used over here in a few murder cases). it is seriously sick that people do things like this, it's as bad as this rp person who has been claiming to be a relative or river in order to get sympathy from those on this site.
