Will be lighting a candle for River on 31st?

I knew he done drugs, i just dont want messages on my site saying horrible stuff like that.
Who said anything about denying he took drugs.
I put my heart and soul into that website so why in living HELL would i want horrible stuff on it.
I hope that one day you will see that not putting horrible messages up i wont hurt anybody.

Here. here, Anonymous! However, while we must not forget the way he died we must also remember the way he lived. Yes, being a junkie was part of that but he was so much more than a junkie. Perhaps his death day is the day to remember the awful way he died. His birthday seems more the day to honor him in my opinion.

In all due respect Anon, all of us here have had many conversations about Elle's website and I have never seen her yet deny his drug use. As a matter of fact, her website is one of the few, if not ONLY River site I've seen that actually has links to support groups for drug and/or alcohol addiction. Maybe you should get to know her and her website a little bit better then? I realize you want to make chit chat a small talk and such - but there are so many other topics of River to discuss, as opposed to her website that brings Rivers life, death, AND drug use to full circle. Just a thought .

listen, I dont understand why you cant see her point? Its her site. Shes obviously a big fan and has great respect for him. Shes not denying it but when you light a candle in someones memory you normally speak of the good in that persons life. Maybe you focus on the negative too much in life. Give this girl a break. Stop being such a dick, life is short. We all know River died a horrible death. Thanks for that tid bit. But the point of her site is to celebrate his life. And if you want negative stuff written all that bad go start your own site and lay off other people.

As I said before, If glossing over the truth and providing another place for those who who choose to ignore the facts is want we need, then by all means, more power to ya'. And as I've read on thse boards somewhere, how's about making a site where we can join hands and cry over the memories of Chris Farley. Lest ye all be hypocrites!

I will say that them drug links that are on my site are from people from this board. ICU said it would be nice to put something like that up, so i did. I have had over 100 people sign my gusetbook and have had only 1 nasty message lest on there.
I dare say the site will be up there as long as people lie it.

i will be lighting a candle in memory of river on the 31st. at a party i won some little frosted scented tee-lights and i haven't had a reason to use them (i even got excited at work when we had a power cut only to discover that my candles were in fact at home lol). i suppose i just wanted an excuse to use them as silly as it sounds. i have a river part on my wall which is behind my door and it has pictures,newspaper cuttings etc so i'll put a little table or something there and light a candle on the 31st. i think i'll also watch stand by me maybe or my current fave which is i love you to death. favourite quote at the mo is "i'm not sick i just got a little headache".
