Hello River fans,
I have to admit that I'm not as big a fan of River Pheonix as you guys. I've only just started to become interested in his life and death when discusing my young crushes with a friend. This included Devon Sawa in 'Casper' and 'Now and Then' and River in 'Stand by me'. This website was easy to find and although i'm rather disturbed by the picture of him in his coffin, the information surrounding it was quite interesting. I came on the 'discussion' forum to announce how beautiful River was and how much I fancied him when i was younger, like girly fans do, but I have to say that alot of you guys are very closed minded when it comes to opinions. Ive read back on older entries and it's just arguments about how you love River and how anyone who doesnt have the same views as you is wrong and you shun them. I realize you are all fans on the actor, but to say that his death was not self-inflicted shows how you are in denile. I have seen other films starring River and I agree, he was gorgeous, he was talented, but he was also a drug addict! Why talk about him like he was a saint? None of us know him so we can't all agree to 'love' him. Why get angry at people for having different opinions to you!? Quite frankly I think alot of the points against River made on this forum are true. You are a true fan when you can listen to other opinions that differ to yours but state fact, and admit its true, but also that it doesn't bother you. Its just showing your refusal to admit to yourself that River wasnt perfect ATALL. Like I said, I agree i'm not as big a fan as you guys, but i know what its like to obsesse over someone famous who died. My fandom was Richey Edwards.
I apoligise if i offend anyone. That is NOT my intention in the slitest. Theres nothing wrong with conflict. Its expected on forums. I just think this forum is very one sided, and its suposed to be a 'discussion' forum, not a 'lets all agree and shout at people who don't' forum...? Wheres the fun in that?

I think this post is wonderful. This board, especially for new comers, gets really annoying sometimes, and that may be why some visit but don't post. There are rarely discussions like you said, and there are like 3 members who talk about one stupid thing (never let it go, boring the board), and they are the only ones who reply to the topics with unrelated comments. Also, like you said, if you disagree, there is no talk, just attacking. I think if you want to belive that River was perfect, fine, if not, thats fine too, just let others talk about what they want and express what they feel too. I am glad that you brought this post up about River.

Nat DOES NOT have any questions to answer here. Where the hell do you get off saying that about her?? Her personal life is just that - HER LIFE. She owes no one any explanations or a timeline of her life. Would you, Anonymous, or Rebecca care to share a timeline of the personal events in your life?? Didn't think so. You can't possibly have much of a life of your own when all you seem to be able to focus on is judging other people's lives. You two do seem mighty CURIOUS about Nat to be complaining about her so vigourously. Sure, everyone here has a right to express opinions about River and such, but PERSONAL ATTACKS against people who post here are not just uncalled for but very immature and childish. If you have nothing better to do with your time, then I'd like to suggest you bugger off and leave Nat and the rest of us to spend our time here in peace.

Gotta admit this post confuses me, too. What 3 people on here are constantly talking about "one" thing only that they apparently have been doing for quite some time and are still doing (based on the "never let it go" part of your post). I come here all the time and can't for the life of me think of anyone who does this, except for people who talk about River - and isn't that the main reason we're all here?

Great post! First of all no ones perfect! Alot of good people have been or are taking drugs ... why? I dont know, maybe they trying to escape from something thats causin them a great pain? As you say you cant just say that River phoenix was perfect and youre wrong with everything you say and im right. Me myself learning more everyday about river phoenix things i dont like and things i like about him, just like another person. Theres things i would like to ask him and argue with him about. I hope I wil lget the chance .

Thanks guys! She is insane, and she needs to go hang out w/ her "friends" privatley via email, as she has already ruined the board. She was banned from another River forum less than 24 hours after joining, LOL!
Now, this is over for me as a few people on here have made it clear that it upsets members when we take up all the discussions talking about others as opposed to River, and the morbid side of hollywood.

Well the very latest is that i'm sitting here in my Beatles t-shirt with Instant Karma! on repeat,last night I cried because I was being overloaded by not having a job,not hearing from the ones I applied for,my partner came over last night,we talked,then I had a drink of water,then I cried more,then I went to sleep,then I woke up at 8 am this morning,I got dressed,say bye to my partner,made a coffee that went cold lol,I put the tv on to see if I could see anything about John on but it's a bit early as it's only 10.17 am lol,put my coat on,went outside for a fag (just kiddin'),went the toilet,washed my hands,made some food,wrote a note for my partner and that's about it really. I'll write down everything that I do so I don't miss out any fun bits!

Maybe if u stopped telling everyone about your personal life Nat, then people would have no reason to judge. You really shouldnt be airing the kinda stuff you are on this message board if you didnt want it discussed about. By posting it, on here, you are basically agreeing it is open for discussion!!!!
