What origially drew me to this site was a strange encounter with a burnout in a bar who claimed to be privvy to the "real" details surrounding River Phoenix's death. It was an odd thing to happen, and thus, it struck me as a good idea for a story. I am, after all, a writer. So I wanted to find out as much as possible about the subject, including pre-existing conspiracy theories, which is why I first posted on this site.

Since then, I've put the whole "Hollywood-hunk-drug-death-as-told-from-the-point-of-view-of-nobody-dope-fiend-that-no-one-believes" story on the back burner. It's still a good story, and I'll probably return to it someday. But something has kept me coming back here. Something perhaps even more interesting than the orignal, strange tale I was told. That is, you people -- all of you lonely, disconnected people clinging to each other in shared obsession and sadness. It's truly remarkable, which is why I remark on it.

And I know that I must pose a strange image to some of you who have read my posts. Here I am, in my mid-thirties, coming onto an internet chat site discussing a dead movie star, and I spend most of my time here flinging flaming bags of word-poo at religious zealots, hypocrites, and atrocious spellers.

We're quite a bunch, aren't we? Your thoughts.

yes we are quite a bunch aren't we? i can only speak for myself but we do have some hypocrites and atrocious spellers on here (not sure if i spelt that right).

we also have some low-lifes on here who find it amusing to go round upsetting people and talking about people's private life. abeit them we do have some normal people to mention a few-me,ally,leonie,you,jiggy,icu etc

above all,we do try and keep on topic which only is changed when the low-lifes rear their ugly heads-we just laugh at them because they are so pathetic
