Since i am so sick 2 death of hearing u put so many people down about there so called 'love' for River and breaking so many peoples inspirations, why dont u all stop fucking around and winge 2 each other? I know that is what u all kum on here for so why dont u winge 2 sum1 who actually gives the slightest fucking care in the world. Its simple just winge away, just make sure u dont leave coz there will be less winge-a-holics. =)

the problem here is that the forum is based on the "untimely death of river phoenix". the title i feel speaks for itself, it is not all going to be peaches and cream. sites such as "across the way" might suit you better, as they seem to cater to your interests more. MORBID HOLLYWOOD is not a pleasant site on the whole.
i admire river's talent but i disagree with his lifestyle. i came to this site initially as i found the fact that the coffin photograph is plastered across the net, that is something i find reprehensible. i have stayed around as i have grown fond of some of the posters on this site (even jiggy!!!). also i feel an obligation to people here, there are a lot of teenagers who post on this board. yet as recent months have proven there are some frauds out there; some of whom just aim to deceive for the hell of it, some of deceive for personal gain. that is the reason that this board is moderated anyway, and as far as things go jiggy is a very fair and informed moderator. i have butted heads with him myself, i do not always agree with his views, but we both see the bigger picture.
we do not exclude people here, but we will not compromise our own beliefs to accommodate others. we welcome debate, it keeps things interesting after all!

There is a difference between hating someone and simply facing facts. River was no saint, in fact, beleive it or not, he was far from it. Just because we accept the fact that River was a drug addict and dont praise him for it, unlike some obsessed young obsessed girls do, dosent mean we hate him. If we hated him, would we think twice about coming on here? I mean, most of us saw him in a movie we liked and liked him and appreciated him as an actor, so we came to credit his work, but there is no point in denying the fact he had a problem and that he was sick, because it would be as decieving as drug addicts refusing to admit that they have a problem.
River was a talented young man, and I was truly sad to see him go, but there is no point in denying facts and praising River for taking drugs....what kind of example is that? 'Ohhhh River died of a drug overdose, because River is so hot, let's start taking drugs'! Is that right? No! But what is right is saying something like 'River died of a drug overdose, taking drugs wasnt a smart way to go, but we can still credit River for his dedication and proffesionalism to his work, and possibly for even standing out a bit in the crowd'! There is nothing wrong with facing the facts. Personally, Id rather face them than reject them and beleive a lie.

That is not completelt true as i have heard so many of these ppl saying not 1 good thing about River and to be honest alot of them hold a great deal of hate 4 him, wats the deal with that?????? Well anyway i believe it is not the teenagers who the obsessed 1's here it is more the ppl in there 20's and 30's, considering many teens dont have the slighest idea who river is.... All's i am saying is that we dont just like him 4 the fact he was hot coz i would definatly have 2 say he was quite adverage but the fact ppl like him is only coz we all seen the good in him and didnt bother about the bad addiction that he had... Yea the addiction was bad but man we couldnt do anything 2 help it so why worry bout the things that we cannot possibly change???? May as well remember him 4 the good movies,songs and deeds he had done and made!!!!!!

First of all, i live River, i loved his films but because he was a good guy, loved animals, was a bit of a hippy type and wanted to save the rainforests doesn't make him perfect.
He had a serious drug addiction which he paid for with his life. I believe in some interviews River stated that he hated being a " pin up " and the model actor. That seems to be the way some of you are remembering him which isn't right.
He had flaws and the sooner you recognise that then i'm sure you will understand his character ( as far as we can ) much better.

That's the thing, its not bullshit, most of its true. River was a great actor but all these fans who wear the rose tinted glasses when it comes to River need to take them off.
River WAS an addict, the proof is there, the amount of drugs found in his blood when he died was NOT someone experimenting.
Now that is a fact, not hating !!!

River was not on drugs for very long before he overdosed.. maybe he dabbled for a year or two. And his mom even said he was almost never part of the hollywood scene. The excitement the night he died at the viper room was beyond his experiences. He was very vulnerable and trusting .. so i think he did not know how strong that persian brown drug was. He was a bit naive in my opinion.I am sure it was just a mistake, he made a bad choice and unfortunaltly he died. He was an amazing person even if he was a drug user. Nothing can take that away. River is sweetbaby!

Colleen, i know you're 35 but you seem very disillusional. He first tried drugs on the set of Stand By Me. If you read enough about him, its very obvious that he had a serious drug problem, of course him mum is going to say that he was never into the hollywood scene. She thought River was here to save this world, that he was some kind of prophet so she's hardly going to admit the truth is she.

Nicola i will say this. River was not doing "hard" drugs on the set of stand by me, maybe weed and beer and cig's. He started with the hard drugs later in life, this is TRUE. And his mom knew him best... you dont know him at all.

you should read scar tissue by anthony kiedis as he says river was heavy into coke and alcohol,even listen to some of his songs as he mentions river's abuse of substances and how it is going to catch up with him as he was a heavy user
