Because my sister is left handed, she compulsively notices other people who are as well. She was convinced, based solely on his personality, that River must have been left handed, so we watched some of his movies trying to decide.

We watched My Own Private Idaho, where she noticed he was smoking with his left hand. I corrected her by pointing out that only in some scenes did he smoke with his left, and in others he was smoking with his right. Then we watched Running On Empty and I pointed out that he was eating and writing with his right hand. She commented that maybe he was playing his character as right handed.

Now, I don't really care either way, but I guess I was curious what you all thought, or if you knew for sure. Was River right handed or left handed?

i think he was right handed because he wears his watch on his left hand. but i'm righthanded and i were my watch on my right hand. but mostly right handed people wear thir watch on their left hand.
so im pretty shore he is right handded.
