"I taped the show and later I watched carefully what Joaquim said and he said surely "I love you River". And also a few of Joaquim fansite reported the same thing. Did anyone else notice it?"
I watched it and taped it, and I've looked at it repeatedly since reading your message to try to figure it out. I knew the first time that he was saying "I love you" to someone, but I can promise you
he is NOT saying "River." He was obviously saying "I love you" to someone he knew would be watching on tv, and it looks way more like he's saying something like "Granddad" lol. Or maybe it was a message to his girlfriend - who knows. But he is absolutely NOT saying River's name. I hate to burst your bubble (and I'm certainly not trying to be mean), but that's just a fact. I can read lips pretty well, and he is in no way shape or form making a "v" sound with his lips. After all, as private as Joaquin is overall but
especially about River, I could never imagine him saying his name on international television. That's why I went back to look at it again. I mean, we're talking about a guy who's so private he managed to
sneak into the Oscars and avoid all the red carpet interviews, lol. It was sweet that he brought his mom with him, though. And how sweet was it when she (Joaquin's mom) started crying during Reese Witherspoon's moving acceptance speech?

I'm glad Reese won - she deserved it. And as amazing as Joaquin was in "Walk the Line" (and I'm someone who saw it in the theater AND has watched the DVD
many times, lol), I still didn't expect him to win the Oscar. (It was great he got a Golden Globe for it, though.) But I knew the Oscar was going to go to Philip Seymour Hoffman, and I really think he deserved it a little more than Joaquin. (just a little, ok?

) If you haven't seen "Capote," you should. Hoffman honestly seemed to channel Truman Capote - he
became him. I've seen video clips of the real guy, so I know. Joaquin was great as Johnny Cash, but I never once forgot I was watching Joaquin
play Cash - whereas I honestly forgot that I wasn't watching the real Capote. Hoffman was just that good. But I'm still VERY proud of Joaquin for the amazing film he made and the honors (awards or just nominations) he got for it. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a big fan of his.

And I'm going to have to start betting some money on the Oscars - I always somehow manage to pick most of the winners, and this year I got 22 out of 24!! And yes, I was one of the few who picked "Crash" to win Best Picture - I was so happy to see it win. That's another great film I recommend people watch.
