hi everyone.
i know this is not a thread on river but i thought i should share this with you all just in case. as some of you know i am a travel agent for a well known company(pays the tuition), i chose not to say who that company is as i am sure there are regulations on these sites regarding advertising. and we have been getting a lot of calls over the last few days from people that have booked holidays with companies only to find out afterwards that these companies were bogus.

there are 3 companies that my company have been made aware of so far and if anymore come up i will inform you straight away.

unbeatableholidays.com
sunmedresorts.com
holidays4under200pounds.com

these companies are not bonded by ABTA or ATOL despite claiming to be. i checked out their web links today and all of them are dead. i know this is more specific to the brits on the board, but if ANYONE is booking holidays on the net then be sodding careful.

it is not simply a case of them taking your money and running either, i know for a fact that unbeatableholidays.com have taken the trouble to send out fake confirmations and airline tickets that are not worth the paper they are written on. also these holidays look like the real deal when they are booked as the flights times and numbers are actually genuine.

from what i can gather so far the thieving gits that have done this have made over £1,000,000 at the very least. all this has only started to unravel over the last few days, so if there are any updates i will let you know.

once again, i know this is not a thread on river but i thought i should let you know as so many people are booking last minute deals and i would hate for anyone to be scammed by these bastards.

take care all

update

hi gang, me again.
just thought i would give you an update.
there are another 2 companies to be aware of, i got this off the data base this morning.
holidayrez.com
holidayez.com

in any case they all seem to trade under the following 2 companies:
Fleetwood Holidays Ltd
Sun Orient Ltd

if any of this seems familiar to anyone, the following steps might help:

report it to your local police station in person, and if necessary to islington police station on 0207 704 1212.

call your credit card company and advise them of this transaction. Discuss whether to cancel the card or not. Ask them to send out claim forms. They will deal with under consumer credit act. if you have paid by other means i.e. debit card ask about the charge-back service and if by cheque, if it has not cleared place a cancellation on the cheque.

advise IGI Insurance on 01932 334 140. they have been dealing with these enquires for the last few days.

register your complaint with the Insolvency Service at http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/complaintformcib.htm

once again i hope no one on this forum is affected by this, i just thought i would share this with everyone just in case.

take care

Its simply great that the English stood up for us Americans.

I know I for one am thankful. After all who needs another

horrible tragedy against America again?

We have had plenty of trouble on our plate for awhile.
