River's 13th Anniversary is soon approaching us and I just wondered if any of you guy's did anything 'special' to honour his memory...like lighting a candle,watching his movies or maybe just sobbing your heart out into a mountain of kleenex tissues?
If you dont want to share your feeling's that's fine.....if you do even better!

I usually think about what he would've looked like if he was still here... "utterly gorgeous no doubt" and where he would've been in his movie and musical career....such a shame!

yeah, i remember river around his anniversary. i can think about him on any occasion. he was a terrific actor. strict vegetatian but a drug addict. he had alot of promise in hollywood, but there where forces that hung around him that made that an impossibility. river has worked with some of the a list actors in hollywood and he had the hook up, but his private life and the powers that be within that world has destroyed his life. jealousy was rampant around him. and as i said in a previous post, his best buds in LA hung him out to dry. he was at johnnys club when that happened to him. johnny didnt try to help him at all. he was also in the bathroom with keanu doing the drugs before he od, and when river was dying, keanu jumped over his body on the sidewalk and ran so not to get busted. there will never be another river. he is sorely missed. a terrific actor he was indeed.

Hang on a minute I would like to clarify a few things with you firstly...
"Johnny didnt try to help him at all".......No he never why? because he didnt recognise river and thought it was just another drunken case
"he was also in the bathroom with keanu doing the drugs before he od".......where did you get the info that keanu was with him that night let alone in the bathroom with him?....let me guess you were there yourself in person right??
And to correct you once again river was a strict 'VEGAN' not a 'VEGETATION' as you call it!

lol! jdepp- I think you fail to realise you are amongst people who know A LOT about river phoenix. Keanu Reeves was filming "speed" when his friend river died, he was informed in his hotel room and production was stopped for a week (sandra bullock was also a friend of rivers) it was feared that it would put the movie way behind and subsequently ruin production because keanu was such a mess, therefore nicola is right (duh) he WAS NOT there.
Johnny Depp- whom you say "sucks" yet seem to "know" a great deal about(?)- met river a handful of times, was on stage playing with "the gibby haynes band" at the time river was taken outside the viper room and had NO time (and to be frank no obligation, except for the fact that he owned the club) to do anything. he barely knew river.
As for your remark that river was amongst the "club kid scene" in new york?! this only shows your complete lack of knowledge and complete pig headedness. River spent his time in Los Angeles and Florida and to my knowledge visited New York for filming purposes, press and premiers (rarely) he was involved in no party scene in New York. (lol! i can just see river at some "club kid" party in make-up, platform boots and spandex!)
