The biography channel has a new series called, "Final 24" where it recaps a famous persons last 24 hours on earth. Last night was John Belushi and next Thursday is the episode about River Phoenix. Just thought some of you might be interested.

Yes i have been waiting to see this FINAL 24 and I must say that if they slander him, or in the slightest bit speak negative about him, I will fucking be one seriously mad!!! All i can say is that i will defend river and if they speak ill of him I will make sure they know about the pain it caused. I am really serious about this! I know I am going to cry my eyes out and it will be VERY hard to watch, but I will watch it tomorrow night. I just want to say thanks to all of you that come here to honor river and remember all the great things he did in his short life. River is one so beautiful! He was human and made mistake! He is gone but now he angel in heaven. I miss him.. I MISS HIM SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

They dont slander him colleen, they use and re-enact the facts that are available to them and if that includes that river had a serious coke habit (which it does) thats because its just the reality of it so try not to get mad...
I hated watching the thing. Not the lead up to his death, because i think they did that quite tastefully explaining what river held dearest to him etc and they also made a HUGE point of how music influenced his life...
but to constuct a programme purely based around someones demise in vulgar and just awful to be frank. They reconstuct his death to every second, down to watching the 'river' character vomit and fit. To top it all off they have actors playing everyone from rain and Joaquin to his 'friend' dickie rude, who appears in person along with william richet in the interview parts of the show....
I just thought that them taking part in such a programme was the highest form of betrayl towards River and his family. Im all for friends and colleges agreeing to be interviewed for programmes that celebrate river's life...but ones totally about his death? felt a bit off to me.
I could just imagine someone in the phoenix family flicking through the channels and coming across 'themselves' on the worst night of their life and then, low and behold- there's there 'friend' being paid to talk about it!
That being said, they used what they knew and in my opinion did not make a mochary of river at all (even though i was half expecting them too) They even put in a drug dealer character who was not named in the actual programme but there was a 'John Frusciante' character billed in the credits...hmmm....

Hello! Well i watched FINAL 24 and i just want to say that river had short dark hair not long streaked blonde hair so the portrayal was off.... but if riv ever had anyone that truely loved him ouside his family it was William Richert the director of THE NIGHT IN THE LIFE OF JIMMY REARDON. He spoke very soft and sweet of rio and used his name in a positive light... HOWEVER George Sluitzer the director of DARK BLOOD seemed very " cold and indifferent" when speaking of river. You haft to really watch it to see what i mean. For example, when Mr Sluizer said " river was using drugs" he had a shit eating grin on his face and seemed like he could care less of rio downfall. Judy Davis seemed like a real ignorant excuse for a human being during the filming and gave rio a very difficult time. that is sad because rio really wanted to work with her and thought she was a amazing actress! People are vicious and can turn on you! Dirk Drake rio tuter seemed very sad. The rudes seem like they know more than they wanna tell...i think alot of coke... etc was being used the nite rio died and the rudes know because the police found a variety of drugs in hotel room!!!!
When they spoke about the last scene ever shot of river in dark blood it gave me CHILLS !! what happened is he was in front of candles in dark cave and the camera did not turn of and they captued rio as a siluette and that is the last footage ever taken of him. very strange!
I LOVED the footage of FLEA AND RIVER PLAYING GUITAR! I was like wow.
I feel so bad for rain, she really tried to help by giving river mouth to mouth. ohhh i cant imagine the fear. she was a kid. joaquin was not even 21 why he was allowed in club? . they was scared. they say if help came sooner he could of lived. Inside the club they did not realize how serious the situtaion was and let time go by unintentionally. Thats sad. My theory is when they told him there was no room on stage to jam he got depressed and bought some drugs and went wild on them, not knowing how strong! so sad. river was so sick i get so sad to think about how he must of felt.. sick and vomiting and knowing he was dying!!! ohhh i get so so so so sad!
The actor that portrayed River was amazing! He should finish dark blood.

I am a big fan of River Phoenix and it's so sad that he died in such a tragic way but I don't understand why so many get upset when they have to hear that River wasn't this perfect person but in fact a human being who made bad choices just like the rest of us has probably done at one point in our lives. The guy was a sweetie pie for sure, with a good heart and a beautiful soul and someone like that just wasn't emotionally equipped for the pressures of Hollywood.After all he did say that it was hard keeping his head above water in this crazy business. The fact that he was so fragile was also his downfall and his way of dealing was to do drugs. It doesn't make him bad, it just makes him human. So people need to accept that River was just human and did what any of us could of done had we been in his shoes. He wasn't perfect, no one is.

When I see the final 24 of River Phoenix I have tears in my eyes and I have many cried.Was very hard see his last 24 hours I love River more than anything and see River the man of my life see his last 24 hours was very hard!I just see one time because I cant see more is too hard!Well I hate Judy davies!She s give hard time to River how she s can to be so bad!And I dont like Samantha mathis! I m so jealous of her! River was too good for her!Was very hard to see.I dont know how tell how I love River and how I miss him!I love him more than anything!River is so important for me I love him and I love him forever!And never nothing change that!
