I have come to this site on & off & sometimes posted my own comments.I enjoy reading what every river fan has to say in regard to him & his life.But what I like best about sites like these is that the online friendship that develops through these as well.

I have to say I am quite fond of a lot of you as your comments can be quite enlightening on such a sad topic, but then again not so sad as us fans are here to keep river alive & celebrate the short but productive life that he had on earth.I think he would be very pleased that so many people have continued to follow in what he believed in & set out to do,but also the many friends that he had gained without him really knowing about....'I don't think river really knew on a scale how much he was really liked or loved by so many people in the world'.I think he would be very overwhelmed by it all!

......River will always continue to live on in our hearts & thoughts & with the lovely people on this forum we can continue to preserve that,after all river deserves it!

Yes thats right river has and will continue to influence our lives for the better,when he died it was a huge shock and maybe a lot of folk will use that in a positive way his overdose.
My sister uses drugs and with all the support she has from her family,she is using them less frequently now.She is trying to quit.But is taking it a day at a time.
Although she does find it very difficult.

Analise you are talking about river like he was some kind of MARTYR.....he was not!! he was just a young man who happened to be in films,could'nt handle the hollywood game and so had a fucked up head so he turned to drugs..........its only inevitable that something was gonna happen to him one day ,he was on a path of self destruction.
Yes I've seen his acting its ok,nothing to fly a flag about.......he wasnt a BRILLIANT actor or anything he was just ok,he never really made a lot of films to see his full potential but the ones I have seen him in weren't brilliant neither was he.

Y'know it kind of reminds me of my nine-year-old boy who sometimes says he is "bored". And usually I respond with the something a teacher once told me. Life is boring only when you are a boring person.
I've found to be exciting, with great happiness, great sadness, more victories then defeat, faced the bitter pill of losing, and the sensation of being on top.

And Analise you are absolutely right. I do have an interest in River. But its been more satisfying reading other's posts. Getting to know them through their opinions, and watching to see who hangs in there over time. There have been a lot of those who have come and gone. But I think Rikki will be here forever.

I too agree with that MOF,I like to read each others as well.I have been on the board on & off now for about a year although not always commenting on things, but I do like to read what you all have to say on different matters.....I also like the sense of humour a lot of you guys have too,especially rikki I think she's a 'cracker'.

Its great to see opinions on here with out various explosions of personalities. And I suspect Analise; that you are a gentle soul.

And Rikki I truly wish it were possible we could have a River Phoenix film marathon. I'm pretty sure I'd learn more about Phoenix and his films quicker then most any other way. Your not only a fan of River, and online friend, you're a warm person.

I know i haven't been posting lately..same old story (no time due to work)it has been a 7 days a week commitment but i can't help but notice from reading some of the posts that there is one person bashing the good people on this board..Dakota people like you are a dime a dozen and the regulars on here like MOF and Rikki are truely one in a million. They will take your nasty words with a grain of salt and not get angry but will feel pity for you because it makes you feel important to belittle others. Your opinion is of little value or importance here can't you see that? Now with that said i just want to say hi to the people that DO matter here and hope you have all been well...MOF i read that you are doing better that is truely wonderful..you ARE a good person and i believe most of the regulars here will agree..i wish only good things for you..Rikki you always have alot to say and i love reading your responses..you always try to speak from your heart! Take care people..just wanted to check in since it has been a while.

You may not know what those kind words mean Val; but they mean so very much. I've seen such great spiritual victories while talking to other's on the street about faith. And the Lord has opened up a number of good churchs to get to minister in song with its been fantastic.
But with that there has been a tough series of spiritual values that goes along with following after the Master from the heart. I've found that to be true from experience. And the battles have been going on way too long. When physical attacks didn't work or emotional attacks; then there has now been attacks against my relationship with a close family member. And its been long and tough. Perhaps too much information, but it feels good to vent a little

But tonight I have assurance through the fact of faith. My faith has strengths and weaknesses; which kind of matches the strengths and weaknesses of one's personality. What is so good about weakness it gives me a chance to put my faith to work in an area where I don't have it all together. When I'm weak that is when the Master becomes so strong.

Plus I recognize people who are overly critical, angry, easily frustrated have been given that baggage for some reason. I doubt the present reality is the reason people act so tough. They are either going through something bothering them or have went through something they have never got over. Perhaps even abuse or even a trauma.

My real dream would be to find a strong faith of healing people who are suffering. That just through prayer people of all kinds being healed emotionally, physically; with no, none, nada explotation of those people who are in hurt. Just real help like the book in the bible Acts describes. With a man of faith giving to other's with the help of the Master supernatural power to over come any thing. Physical, emotional, spiritual problems being healed by the mighty hand of a living God. And with a man of faith willing to give to the point of laying his life down.

Any way its been mighty fine to get to write and read your blogs Val, Rikki, and so many other's.
