I became obssessed with Dorothy Stratten several years ago after watching her True Hollywood Story on E!. I don't know why, but the whole story of her life and death hit me so deeply emotionally that I was in a depressive daze for a month or two. I was even planning on driving by her apartment in L.A. and her grave. Weird, considering this was almost 20 years after her death. I never had anything really affect me like that before.
Anyway, there is another movie that was made. "Dorothey Stratten: The Untold Story", by Playboy, Copyright 1985, catalog #502, distributed by Karl Lorimar. I bought it on Ebay...a VHS with the original box, which in addition to the title, says "She had it all...except the happy ending.". I started to watch it, but never saw it all the way through...I still have it. It had footage of her on an outdoor Playboy photo shoot and her walking with her family in Vancouver, B.C. near the beginning, but I was too weirded out by my own emotions to watch the rest. I could watch it now, but I don't have a VCR. I will eventually rip it and burn it to DVD. She was absolutely gorgeous, graceful and innocent. Snider met her working at a Dairy Queen in Vancouver...the rest is history.
I would imagine you could find a copy of her Playboy issues and other photos on Ebay.
