Desert Blanc and Papaw Bodie ran really good races to be there at the wire in the Manhattan on Saturday.
While doing some reviewing I found a horse that might run a lot better next time out.
Did anyone notice #3 Al Khali at the pack of the back
Here's the video
He is well back down the back side and starts to move up and looks good doing so when Mike Smith starts fighting him for his head, then as they get into the turn he has moved up into a good 5th or 6th spot when he has to check out of the rail and he backs up to last again, he starts to come on again as they hit the top of the stretch and Smith checks again and his head goes up in the air and his momentum stops. He finally gets it back going to only be 2 3/4 lengths back at the wire, closing into what was not a super quick pace. Al Khali should like more distance if he gets it and more pace. The best part about the whole thing is the equibase chart line
Saved ground throughout and was no factor
If he doesn't stop twice he might be right there at the wire
Definetely worth looking at for next time.
Just my observations
