When I analyzed the 2007 Travers Stakes I couldn't look past the rather cheap but nonetheless "cold" exacta of Street Sense over Grasshopper and that's how I wrote it up. Post race in seeking autographs on my write-up from Borel and Albarado I apologetically approached Robby since I had spotted him second. He was the consummate gentleman and assured me that "he'd love to run second in every million dollar race"!
Would love to see these connections in the circle following the Whitney.

Question...hope i get an answer before i post my selections.
looking at the rules, i got a little confuse with the followings:
1. Method: players will make 36 “win” selections during the six weeks of the 2008 Saratoga season. Track payout ($2 win) awarded for correct picks.
2. Once you have made 36 selections that “start”, you are finished, regardless of how many days/races have yet to be run. If for any reason you make less than 36 selections when the meet has concluded, your bankroll will still be based on the wagers you did make.
in paragraph #2, you have (“start”,). exactly what this means? does it have anything to do with how many "selections" are made?
my understanding is that no matter how many selection one makes, its over when one hit 36 wins. please correct me. thanks.

Saturday 26 July 2008
Race 1) #3 Brendan's Warrior (first time with state breds) 20-1 ML
Race 2) #2 Sean Avert- I like some of the works 15-1 ML
Race 3) #9 Due to Get Even - Castellano on turf 20-1 ML
Race 4) #5 Unbridled Heart - Fastest horse in race.
Race 5) #4 Cardiff Road - 12-1 ML, won on Sar Turf last year.
Race 6) #1 Nautical Storm, Storm cat first timer, Like the works, cost 750,000. Gut feeling he can run. 15-1ML (plus you get a pletcher with it)
Race 7) #8 Forever Together -Wait a while wins if ready and handles ground, but I'll play against. Forever Together is improving and I love Sheppard on turf. 15-1ML
Race 8) #1 Thor's Echo- needed last race. Should be primed, sit right behind the speed.
Race 10) #8 GrassHopper - 2 best races came at Sar. Last couple may not be as bad as they look. Last chance I give him.
Race 11) #6 Ya Think - Top jock gomez sticks around to ride in the last race for small connections. I use this angle alot.

""2. Once you have made 36 selections that “start”, you are finished, regardless of how many days/races have yet to be run.""

Cruzan, and anyone else who is unsure about the selection process:
For the entire contest, you are only allowed to make 36 picks; 36 picks that "start", specifically, because I don't wan't you to think that scratched picks are counted in there. 36 horses who run in a race.
As Sammy posted above, 36 "win" bets refers to the fact that we are making selections for the "win" spot only, not place, show or otherwise.
I'm sorry if my phrasing mislead you; I'm glad you brought this up early in the game. Continued good picking by you.
A Beautiful day at the Spa turned up the action in the SCC. Many players jumped in head first. Some with success, some without. It's interesting watching the strategy of certain players. Some are in to win the whole thing while others have an eye on the most winners for the meet title. Then you have Cruzan2002 who is doing his best to use up all 36 of his selections by Monday.
Missed deadlines continue to help/hinder players. Keep one eye on the form and one eye on the clock people.
Forever Together was a popular contest pick on Saturday with a handful of participants correctly tabbing her on top. P'Bob dropped a last race 12/1 shot while announcing "I'm P'Bob. I'm here. I will crush you" to us all. DejaVuView decided to post a few losers just to make things fair for the rest of us. Cruzan continues to hold the top spot, but for how long? Many players continue to bide their time and let the early part of the meet shake out. Sunday should be an intriguing day in the SCC.
