I've seen them all and I thought Inception was the best I saw on this list. Ms. Leo was great in The Fighter! IMO a good movie about a tough boxer but Walberg didn't resemble Micky Ward much which, IMO made the film unexceptional...But Walberg is gold right now in Hollywood they say... I'm just waiting for Cowboys and Aliens!

I thought Jesse Eisenberg put up the performance of the year in The Social Network. It was an interesting character change for him as he normally plays the nervous nerdy type. This time he was the quick witted nerdy type - I didn't realize he had that versatility. Hands down my favorite performance of the year and my favorite movie of the year.

I thought Christian Bale's performance in The Fighter was equally as exceptional portraying Dicky Eklund. Unfortunately like Spanky said, the character Mark Wahlberg played was pretty far from the Micky Ward I remember.

I really enjoyed The Fighter as well and Melissa Leo is most deserving of an award. I know what you mean about Wahlberg, he seemed a lot like he was in Invincible. However, and help me with my theory here Dell, I think sometimes an actor is the equivalent of a great straight man in comedy. Wahlberg gets some credit for the great performances by both Ms. Leo and Christian Bale who was also great and for that matter pretty much everyone else in the film.

Haven't seen the King's Speech yet.

I just saw the King's Speech this weekend and it was excellent. It didnt turn out to be a boring hard to understand English movie that I was kind of expecting. Instead it was very interesting and educational (Wasn't aware of the history).A very good movie

Saw the Vegas odds. Most favorites are chalkier than Secretariat!

Best Picture- Social Network 1-3
Best Actor- Colin Firth 1-15!!!
Best Actress- Natalie Portman 1-5
Best Supporting Actor- Christian Bale 1-10
Best Supporting Actor- Melissa Leo 1-2
Best Director- David Fincher- 1-10

I did the math. A $2 parlay would get back $6.20!!! Not too good.

How in the world does Chris Nolan keep getting shunned from the Oscars? He must have really twisted somebody off...with a director like Nolan and a lead actor like DiCaprio it's amazing it didn't get nominated for best picture IMO...then again, I gave up on ole Oscar the year they gave it (best picture) to Chariots of Fire...
