I'm considering doing something different this year. Instead of applying my 'triple lindy' method to every BC race, I may take a totally altered approach.
Aside from not committing solely to trifectas (p3s, doubles etc) my prime thought is to select ONE race of perceived high-return, and attack it. Putting more resources and analytical focus on one more than the rest of the card.
Not having looked through everything with any depth, I'm undecided as to which race (or maybe 2?) this will be. At first glance the Sprint and Mile come to the fore.
Thoughts? Opinions? What are YOUR plans for playing this year's Breeders Cup races?

My thoughts indeed, and hopefully it will be one of the early races so you have the excess venture capital to play the following races without a care in the world. I managed to hit with Adoration last year so it took the pressure off early. Bummer was the only other thing I hit was the sprint the rest of the day.
The sprint and the mile seem to historically be excellent paying races across the board so they would be great choices to key on. All it takes is one signer and your day is made. Those races are usually full and quite competitive so I like your approach. Load up and let the $$ roll in then enjoy the rest of the races with a profit assured.
Parley that profit into an even bigger one with your usual Derby score then go even farther by betting it all on the nose of the Arlington Million winner............ I can see it now. Dudley Enterprises a multinational conglomerate started with the seed money from a few well placed wagers. LET IT RIDE!

cashing a ticket would be fun!

I too have resolved to be more focused for this year's BC, and I plan to zero in on the same two races as you. The sprint and the mile historically pay well, and it just so happens that the horses I like the most this year (Clock Stopper and Singletary) are running in these races. Of course, if I hit one of these races I'll tale some stabs in the others.
I'm happy to have found my way to the new incarnation of the old BH forum, and I look forward to hearing what everyone thinks about this year's BC races.
Nola.

I'm thinking, get the Euros out of the top two and you will be on your way to a boxcar mutual. Those tight Texas turns may propose a problem for those long legged grassers.Another option is bet your whole bankroll on Artie Schiller;)

Which one? The horse that crosses the line first or the one that is awarded the victory? Our own Badactor had a little trouble with that this year.

Re: Taking a different approach- betting strategies
For a total of $384.00 I like to roll my top 4 write-up selections in the 6 pick 3's. Given my propensity for filtering out an occasional live longshot in my analysis (Domedriver, top pick @ $54.00, Anees, 2nd pick @ $62.60, Sheik Albadou, 2nd pick @ $54.60, Cajun Beat, 3rd pick @ $47.60, Pleasantly Perfect, 2nd pick @ $30.40, Desert Stormer, 3rd pick @ $31.00, Dancing Spree, 3rd pick @ $35.20, Thirty Slews, 3rd pick @ $39.40) with a little luck, one can land an occasional IRS ticket.
As far as individual races go, the Sprint has been kindest to me with 3 IRS trifectas amongst my 4 write-up selections. I can't wait to start breaking down this years' offerings this weekend.

I need all of the help I can get.I've been digging at this since last week, but can't seem to focus.Too much other stuff going on or else I'm just mentally weak and undisciplined.I'll take another crack at it the next 2 nights, but if its not an imposition I'd love a copy.

I'd love hearing your thoughts Larry in case I missed something ..... just haven't been able to give it the time I'd like and I really hate when they run it at a track that I'm not familiar with as far as tendencies go.
