ATTN: Reviewer and Pas.....The Official "Team Schwingle Milt Terf" Selection Thread

It's all about KITTEN's JOY for me. My solid play of the day in all serial bets. He's no value, and neither is the tri if he wins. I'm betting he'll repeat the move he made in his last 2. If he does..they're running for place.

But you asked for BOMBERS- here they are:

Mustanfar
Request for Parole

KJ is top choice- use these however you decide. Good luck to us all.

Not to but in but, did you guys see Mustanfar's race at Keeneland? He was boxed in then just essploded once he got some room. They should have had him running in the grass routes all year IMO. Solid shot to spice it up.

Hey guys.

Just got the PPs and of course the printer ran out of ink. Ill be ready to discuss this evening.

We have a 4 horse box and a 1/4/4 part wheel to fill but Im willing to change the extra $36 if we think theres better value to be add in a heavy exacta or Daily Double.

Kitten's Joy seems the obvious one to me too. Unfortunately we have a race that appears to lack a likely big payout (which would fit the history of the race). While It'd be nice to hit a $200 tri for our charity, Id much rather find a way to get to $500 or up.

So any and all suggestions (whether they be very heavy tris or even a super) would be appreciated.

We have $60 to play with.

As far as our wager goes, we'll have a 4 horse tri box and then a superfecta ticket. The super ticket will be A/BCD/BCDE/BCDE and BCD/A/BCDE/BCDE.

I assume KJ will be the consensus as the key...

After several minutes of analysis...

Kitten's seems easy. A short field only helps to avoid any traffic issues. Also very persuassive to me is that this race more than most on BC day stays pretty formful. Dont see any way or reason to try to beather.

In no particular order,

Star Over the Bay should have the lead for at least 10fs and 30% of turf routes get wired at LSP. Ran his best fig at 12fs.

Better Talk Now has the 2nd highest PF in the field. Likes it soft and has a trainer with a knack for bombers. FWIW, The Sword Dancer winner has hit board here 2 of the last 3 times they've tried.

Powerscourt put on a heck of performance right before my eyes. Cant ignore that, but for some reason I have distance questions.

Did anyone see Magistretti's work the other day. The jock had to work hard and his training partner had to be held way back just for Mag to pass. Didnt look like he was on to me....

Anything can happen if the early pace is slow

October 29 2004, 3:00 PM

Does anyone remember Buck's Boy? In 1998, he was the lone speed, and thus set very slow early fractions. It totally changed that race, and allowed two long shots to place, and show. Could this year be a repeat? Star Over The Bay may set up that same sort of situation tomorrow. Lone Star has a mighty short stretch. The turf could be extremely soft. Not a recipe for success, if you are a horse expecting to close more than a couple of lengths from the top. Just a little something to consider.

Yeah, that Kitten's Joy.......some kind of bum that one!

I'm shocked, though........I love Mustanfar, and I thought I'd be laughed off the team! Guess not!

Huge fan of Star Over The Bay here guys! Just keeps on tickin'.......in the stretch, he's a real John Henry type. You won't get by him unless you blow by on the far outside right at the wire......like Zalataia did to old John in his attempt at a 4th consecutive Oak Tree Invitational.

Powerscourt is the one that, at the price, I would be open to leaving off altogether. I just don't feel all that comfortable with two trips across the big bathtub with a GI inbetween, all in a span of a 2-1/2 months. That's a lot to ask any horse to do. Would have loved to have seen him stay here and take on "the little meow" in the Turf Classic. I'm just a little uneasy about him. But majority rules.

I'd be happy to accept Better Talk Now. He'll be a great price, and it looks like he's feeling pretty good these days.

Wish there was some way to include the old warrior Sarafan..........(sigh)....oh well...

My picks in order of preference will be:

Kitten's Joy
Mustanfar
Star Over The Bay
Better Talk Now

I'll accept whatever the Captain decides. It's gettin' excitin'!

Pas, Import/Export laws only allow the Euros here for about a month. Or they have to pay some pretty hefty taxes

I see little value on top as I see this as a 2 horse race with Powerscourt the one to have a chance to beat Kittens Joy. Powerscourt won the Million (before the dq) racing on a style that was different from all of his other races. He ran from 10th that day and passed all of those in front of him. However, his race line comments show he is usually on or near the lead and with littel pace in the race (Star Over The Bay) I expect he will be sitting in a good spot 2nd off the lone front runner, giving him a jump on all of the rest off of an expected slow pace. Surprisingly several of us came up with the same longshot with Mustanfar. His last race at the distance shows he may have a chance at a price. With Star Over the Bay as the lone frontrunner, I think he has to be included.

My Choices:

1. Powerscourt
2. Kittens Joy
3. Mustanfar
4. Star Over The Bay

I knew that trying to throw out Powerscourt was going to meet with quite a bit of resistance......and by the way, thanks whoever you are for the bit of info about limitation of stays for imports in this country. I was unaware of that.

Kitten's Joy
Mustanfar
Star Over The Bay
Powerscourt.........

suits me just fine thank you very much!

This is how I see it:

Kitten's Joy is a monster right now----deserving even money favorite

Star Over The Bay will set slow early fractions--KJ might be the only one to pass late

Mustanfar will close for 3rd at a price

Better Talk Now rallies for 4th

Tri won't pay much but super might be okay.

Good luck to us all....
