BRS Mile

October 29 2004, 10:27 AM

Doc, I think you're looking for 5 in order, so here goes.

Whipper
Blackdoun
Six Perfections
Artie Schiller
Diamond Green

5 closers here. Blackdoun is going to be a huge price. He's looked the part every time I've seen him run and I'm 3-3 with him at the tote. I think he's earned the right to step up and try these. Whipper's been solid and Six Perfections earned her wings last year in the Mile. Artie Schiller has an explosive kick and Diamond Green is another bomb that looks like he can fire big on his best day.

I'm using.....

......four of your five, Peter. Don't care for Blackdoun at all, but the other four interest me in varying degrees. Diamond Green is particularly tempting.

No early speed horses in your mix?

October 29 2004, 3:43 PM

You might consider keeping one E or E/P type in your mix for exotics. One horse has shown the ability to battle through hot early fractions and hold on to win over and over again this year. The same horse has been here before. That can make a difference. To make things sweeter, ML odds are 20/1. Long odds horses hitting the board in the Mile is the rule, not the exception. Soaring Free could be that horse.

I like the Americans this year. The Euros fall too far behind the fast pace and can't catch up at Lone Star.

Nothing to Lose
Silver Tree
Blackdoun
Six Perfections
Artie Schiller
