I think I'll go a little deeper than $8, but you can't knock anybody for taking a short-shot.
Graham Stone of Rapid City, S.D., parlayed an $8 wager into a payoff of more than $2.7 million in last year's Ultra Pick Six at the Breeders' Cup.
Here's the way he plans to invest his $8 in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Pick Six, which covers the last six races of the eight-race championship card:
Mile — Artie Schiller; Sprint — Speightstown and Kela; Filly & Mare Turf — Ouija Board; Juvenile — Roman Ruler; Turf — Kitten's Joy; Classic — Pleasantly Perfect and Dynever.
In the two Cup races outside of the Pick Six, Stone prefers Nebraska Tornado in the Distaff and Balletto in the Juvenile Fillies.

He would be lucky to win $100 bucks on that Pick 6. If those horses won, he would hardly be the only winner.
This year's 2.7M ticket would not include Ouija Board or Kitten's Joy.
