My personal failures aside, I'd like to say that it was a great pleasure to see some fantastic performances today.
First of all:
Ouija Board is all that...how cool is this runner? Simply an amazing race on her part and I thought she was going to be the most impressive runner until Ghostzapper pulled his act out.
I was not all that impressed with the U.S. crop of juvy's and this is why I was taking a chance on Scandanavia as being the Euro who would be the upsetter...picked the wrong Euro, and I'm not sure how impressive that race was...will have to review it--but I wasn't too surprised to see Roman Ruler off the board.
I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on whether or not Better Talk Now should have come down. There were two incidents in the stretch and I don't think the second one was cause for a DQ, but the first one might have been...would like to see the replay before I decide for sure.
Who gets horse of the year?
Does Smarty lock down the 3 year old award now?
Both Azeri and Roses In May ran great races IMO...hats off to both of them and Azeri is still one of the best, if not the best I've seen in person.
Sweet Catomine is huge...and what an explosive win, especially after having to be held back around the turn.
Congrats to Todd Pletcher for getting that monkey off his back...and also congrats to some Chicago guys with Singletary...I've never seen such an excited crew in the winner's circle.
The steward explained that in Texas, if in their opinion the order of finish was not affected, no take down. I don't think KJ was fouled by him & Magistretti was through.
If they put him behind Mag., I hit the tri.
HOY is up for grabs, but 3YO will be Smarty - but I like KJ.
I was pretty concerned about Better Talk Now, until I heard him say that he thought both KJ AND BTK pinched him. He knew JR was claiming foul and it would have been easy for him just to jump on the bandwagon.

Ouija won kind of easy but had a dream trip and Fallon was getting after her pretty good.I think they chose the right race for her.Even with the upset in the Turf I don't think she'd have made an impact there. The FM turf was run in an absolute crawl and I think that if Wonder Again wasn't so far back off that pace she'd have given Ouija a race in the stretch.Prado left her with way too much to do.He was kind of handcuffed with her post, but could have ridden her a little more aggressively. No way was she making up all of that ground he spotted to the winner and Film Maker considering the pace.Bad job by Edgar-the clock in his head obviously not working in that race.
