Mig off all mounts today!

Considering the fact that a consortium I played supers with yesterday needed Artie to only fill out one of the other 3 spots behind my top pick Singletary, there is apparently cause to second guess his decision to ride knowing he wasn't feeling 100%. Get well soon, Mig!

That's tough to hear Larry. I know what you're saying about Artie. However, think about how close 'the mig' was to hitting the board riding Bwana Charlie. Does a feeling good Migliore make up the 1/2 length it takes to get up for third? I'll never know. I'm just cryin' over spilled milk.

Mig hurt or partying?

I may be reading too much into it now that I realize that Jeremy Rose who was narrowly beaten aboard my top Juvy selection, Afleet Alex also called in today.

C'mon, guys. Richard Migliore doesn't take the reins unless he was sure he'd give both horses (and trainers and owners) 100%. Artie had a terrible trip but based on a quick lookover of the PPs (after the fact, if I may add), I doubt if he was really up to the chore. He doesn't appear to be a miler, IMHO. As for "Charlie," I had My Cousin Matt as one of my top four picks. I guess I was lucky then huh?

No not lucky, just thoughtful --from another who had him wps in the race (and oh yeah, posted it in advance)

Nice call, Dam. FWIW, I emailed my selections to Big daddy, Pas, and Robin, who I hope would vouch for me. I'll be truthful here, however. Speightstown was my last pick to fill out the four-horse tri box...

For clarification, that's four horses surrounding my key, which was Kela.

You're right Timmye. Like I said, I'm cryin' over spilled milk. Great call on MCM. You beat me fair and square. No luck involved.

Mig always gives his best

Don't get me wrong, timmye et al. I have tremendous respect for Richie as a rider and competitor. He would never willingly do anything to compromise the chances of his mounts. I'm sure he felt well enough to go. Just to clarify, I didn't even mention him in my 4 horse analysis but the deep pockets end of the consortium loved his chances and he's a terrific capper in his own right so Artie was acceptable as one of our keys. Somebody else helped make him the chalk though and at those odds, he was tough to like for the top. I just wish he could've gotten up for 4th. Super is still probably $50,000.00 with him replacing Soaring Free who was only 10-1!

who left timmye's pick cuzin matt off the "big dogs run late" trifecta ticket...I had to decide between him & gold storm & I chose to go with the local-yokel rather than cuz matt....in fact timmye's been pretty dang charitable himself not dogging me about it...

I got what you meant Larry. I really wish your consortium would have hit with Artie. FWIW, Migliore loves Artie and truly believes he'll become a special horse. Based on human nature, perhaps he could have been slightly less than 100% on BC Day...

BTW, nice call with Singletary!

As for our charity bet, big daddy, you and I know I didn't "love" Matt but only included him as my fourth choice pick. Based on the point system we had, I knew he wouldn't make our final cut unless you, Pas or Robin also picked him, which didn't happen. I still could have made him my first choice and made our final cut, but he really wasn't my favorite choice (Kela).

Broken wrist and rib suffered in that spill (gate) on 10/28.
Guts no glory or dumb.I think he did a great acting job and the radiologist was on the take.
