Till the Breeder's Cup. I had an idea I'm going to do and figured I'd pass it along. Every year come Breeder's Cup time, the money I want to bring to the track and the money I actually bring don't match. Bills add up, Christmas is right around the corner, I buy things I don't need, etc. We've all heard of Christmas clubs and vacation clubs, well my sick a$$ is starting a Breeder's Cup club. Every winning day at the track I'm taking 20% of my winnings out and it's going in a box. $300 day here, $400 day there. That's an extra $60 or $80 right there. Hopefully there's enough winning days between now and then to get it to a nice number. Add that money together with whatever else I can afford at the time and this Breeder's Cup my numbers finally will match at the beginning of the day. The end of the day is a whole other story though lol.
With that idea in mind what about putting together a wagering syndicate in here? Just for argument sake, $100 per forum member pooled together over say 50 or so members,(I think we have at least that many) is not too much to look for per person (as Boozer says spread over the next 6 months) but when applied toward a superfecta wager on Breeders Cup day actually allows for quite a healthy package wager. And with the supers paying last year:
It is conceivable that some serious money could be won. Just by way of example and not that our excellent handicappers would need it but an 8 horse box on a $2 superfecta wager would cost $3360. This would have made some nice returns in 5 of the 8 races last year. And certainly in the lower paying races, it would not have taken an 8 horse box to hit the three lower paying races. Just a thought.
I'm in Dam. Great idea. How about toward the pick 6? I hit 4 out of 6 last year on a $36 ticket. Singled both Afleet Alex and Kitten's Joy. Both ran 2nd and I haven't let it go yet lol. 5 out of 6 last year paid like $50,000 since noone hit all 6. I'd like to think that at the worst we would have had 5 out of 6 last year. Just a thought. I'm up for anything though.
If you'd like to propose such a display of comraderie, it might be best to personally recruit your partners, and keep it off the public boards. Just my 2 cents.
So why even broach the subject Clinty? hmmmm underage punks trying to place illegal wagers. I think the New Zealand authorities might be interested in this. I'm sure your father would be pleased as well, knowing his sons are about forging his name to illegal activities.
>>>>>>>What's the difference from this and recruiting for the Giacamo syndicate?<<<<<<<<
When we hooked up the Giacomo syndicate, we required the following:
1) Credit Check
2) Background Check
3) I.Q. Test
4) Written Exam
5) Longshot Resume
6) Photo I.D.
7) Child Support History
8) Math Test
9) Social Security Number
10) Oral Presentation
Frankly speaking I am against betting as I believe it is the devil's work. I wasn't doing anything more than musing out loud. Also, as an officer of the Court, i could not condone or take part in any illegal betting, Ponzi schemes etc.
"What's illegal about it? I am not up on the legal aspects of this stuff."
There's a well known jaaaagoffff, that would love any sign of impropriety that may occur on this website [condoned underage gambling]. Better to be safe than sorry, that's all there's to it. Perhaps offline, thru e-mails, team Ozzie/Kiwi [pick whatever name suit's ya] can come forward. Sorry Clint and J.J., but that's the way it has to be.
Dell [God Bless you, sir!] has plenty of headaches with that spineless twit, why add another needless issue?
>>There's a well known jaaaagoffff, that would love any sign of impropriety >>that may occur on this website [condoned underage gambling]
Well the young fella's do admit to their age, and it seems its a non issue, them willing to not participate. Heck I'm not sure of the legal ramifications of us placing wagers for a non US resident???? if you want to get anal about it.
One thing I do know, it's ILLEGAL to place wagers from the state of GA. And since that illegal activity took place over a phone line, Federal wire fraud charges could also be brought, since the account being "called" is offshore.
Yeah I'm sure the twit is dumb enough to take "us" on.
And on the age issue ...... how many of your pops are in jail <G>???????? I know there where a couple of threads where the "dumb" "young" son implicated his father took part in an illegal activity. I guess the statute of limitations applies LOL. .............. just pulling your chains. Heck I know a few tellers at Pimlico that should be in jail, me placing bets at such a tender age, now warped into this gambling "nut" <G>.
