"Dunlop had planned to run the ROA/Racing Post Horse of the Year for 2004 in the mile-and-a-half race after she scoped dirty and was forced to miss last weekend's September Stakes at Newmarket.
However, connections have decided she needs more time to recover - she was also entered in the Select Stakes at Goodwood on Sunday - and are evaluating options ahead of her bid to capture the $1 million Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf for the second consecutive year.
"If everyone was happy with her it wouldn't bother me going for the Breeders' Cup without a prep and that is why I can't say for sure what we are going to do.
The four-year-old has been off the track since disappointing on her seasonal debut at the Royal meeting, when she finished seventh behind Azamour but returned home with a small stress fracture to her near-fore cannonbone."
I wonder how true the report of a stress fracture actually was? A new trainer excuse for the owner? The injury allegedly took place 6/15 in the Prince of Wales Stks Grp I. 11 weeks later they were ready to run in another Graded Stks. HUH??
"Stress fracture", illnesses I wonder if I'd wager a dime on her if she doesn't have a prep race.
