As we all know they are always around, get a lot of publicity, but they never seem to win. If you have an opinion on the biggest wise guy horse on the card, please post it here.
Oratorio fits the bill in the Classic, imo. He's a nice horse but not nearly in the league of the Euros' two recent near-winners, Giant's Causeway and Sakhee.
It takes a truly excellent Euro to beat the Yanks at their own game -- unless the Yanks are suspect as they were in '93. This might not be the best Classic field ever, but Saint Liam, RHT, Borrego and Flower Alley are no slouches.
The one who I fear is starting to turn into a wise-guy (and it breaks my heart because I was really looking forward to playing him) is Suave.
20-1 on the morning line is a pipedream, I fear. 10-1 is much more likely (which still isn't that bad), but mid-range single digit odds (6 or 7) would not surprise me at all, given the buzz, both here and out there.
Thanks Big! I've just been hearing Suave's name popping out of the woodwork from just about every corner, and maybe I'm over-estimating the "semi-hype".
I was just looking forward to putting a few bucks to win on him, but more importantly, looking for a great opportunity for place and show wagers. I've done very well in the Breeders Cup over the years with those bets.....it's the only time you can get palatable value on them, and when I start to see my P&S target getting buzz......well, I get disappointed.
