I think Cacique is the most likely to win, but TH Approval is better value.  Who you guys like?

I agree with cacique, but only concern is the firm turf...go deputy looks good too...dont like english channel's second-out-after-layoffitis....rush bay cant be ignored as the horse for the course angle...I see 'em:

cacique
go deputy
rush bay
better talk now

Agree on Cacique.

I like Scorpion as the Euro; he seems primed a top notch performance. Hurricane Run appears pretty flat but I gotta wonder if hes in the mix on raw talent alone.
I've heard others tout TH Approval. I dont see it myself, but Ive heard enough good things to say hes an include.

Ive never been a big EC fan though I will give him his props for consistency. No problem forcing him to beat us.

Where is spanky?

I'll be offline as of about 3 ET this afternoon.  Trying to beat EC and putting Cacique up top sound like a couple good ideas to base a wager around.  I don't remember the format though Seth.  You doing a 4 horse box or going with a part wheel?

Cacique over TH, Go Deputy, Rush Bay, and Scorpion?

Format depends on whats what. Ill do a tri pw if we have one to key, or a box if theres consensus, or some wheels or whatever. Ill let all chime in and then see what I can come up with.

I think the Euros are still tough in here. Hurricane Run is a 12f specialist. My only question on him...has he been trying to rush his season all along? Soft turf and a distance he didn't want last out after hearing his feet rattle on the good to firm. I think the runner up in that race is going to win the Mile (Rob Roy), so I think Hurricane Run is legit in here.

Scorpion has one start in 12 months but certainly isn't shipping for the exercise. Running in a bog at the Curragh has to get you fit in a hurry.

Red Rocks looks like another who's going to be happy with this distance. 3yo has been tough overseas. He'll be closing, but I don't know if he can win.

Cacique's never been 12f and has been run over by English Channel. I've just never been sold on English Channel....and Cacique is the company he's been keeping. Really an open race. I think leaving all the Euros out of the mix is pretty risky. The reward would be huge though.

I'd leave Hurricane Run or Scorpion in contention here...

Ok...

Thanks for the input all. Pro makes a good point about Cacique viz EC. If we dont like the later, why the former? Here's the answer for me anyway: I dont like EC simply because I just dont like him. Nothing to do with performance, its just personal.

I also agree that leaving off the Euros is nuts. Only in a year when they are real bad and we are real good (ala 2004) does that make sense. I dont see a bunch of monsters on our side of the pond (BTK is one of my all time favs, buts hes the 3rd or 4th best over here and wouldnt sniff the top half of any G1 in Europe.) Also, you cant ignore the accomplishments of Hurricane Run, etc. That said, he offeres no value and diminishing performances. Scorpion seems the real value play in my mind.

And since we're talking about value, lets try to keep BOTH the short priced "monsters" out of the exacta.

Here's the ticket:

$1 Trifecta

Scorpion, Cacique over
Scorpion, Cacique, Go Deputy, TH Approval, Red Rocks over
Scorpion, Cacique, Go Deputy, TH Approval, Red Rocks, English Channel, Hurricane Run

And just because I could do it 1000 times and he'd still have made me a lifetime profit:

$4 DD
Pine Island to
Better Talk Now

Thats a double "quack quack"!

Thanks for all the help guys!!

EDIT: No DD from the Distaff obviously, so change it to a $1 P3 Pine Island/BTK/Bernie,Invasor,D Junior,GW
