Driving down to Del Mar the day before the Pacific Classic, Mr. Steele and I were listening to the morning handicapping show on the radio. One of Shug's assistant trainers came on to talk about Good Reward. While on, the hosts asked him about Pine Island. He started raving about her saying she was the most talented horse in the barn, etc, etc. He then uttered these immmortal words:

"Shes the ugliest horse Ive ever seen. We all call her "The Dump Truck."


She's a single all over my tickets. So when they round the far turn if you here in the distance: "Here comes the Dump Truck!!" thats just me and Mr. Steele counting our cash.
