Opening Day for the Oak Tree meet at Santa Anita is Wednesday, September 24th.
That gives folks 23 days of racing prior to BC (Oct. 24/25) to figure out the surface.

Should the BC suits be worried?

Bad Steps

September 25 2008, 8:45 AM

two horses in training...
two bad steps leading to breakdowns...
and two trainers; both of whom do not blame the racing surface.

This quote, however, seems a tad silly:
"I've always thought that it is unfair to judge a track based on catastrophic injuries."
Mark Glatt

...and errrr-ummm, yeah???

Here are the results charts for Opening Day.

(one runner "pulled up lame" and had to be vanned off, but that was on the turf course.)

The new poly-track looks like dirt and doesn't smell like shredded tires and old carpet.

TRACK PLAYING FAIR, imo...
