A gentleman from the Curlin Camp says to me as he passes, he says:
"You're wearing the Big Brown shirt. You heard the news, right?"
Then he gave a look and shook his head as if to say, Yeah. We'da kicked his...
Thank you for the shirt, Steve. Got a great reaction all day!
Beautiful photos and it looked like Curlin was a handful. He was that way at Saratoga and I'll never forget seeing him in the paddock and his alertness.
Dell - Nice job with the long sleeved Brownie shirt and did you ever play a mental patient in your thespian career? Your pal, Knepper
Student Council (four furlongs in 48:18): Nobody has made any better appearance than Student Council since I arrived here last week, and he confirmed that notion during his final Breeders' Cup prep, which was in sharp contrast to those of stablemates Curlin and Pyro. Despite being hard-held leaving the pole, Student Council was full of run and ready to roll and his rider did a good job holding him through an opening quarter in 12.25. The pace quickened without urging around the turn and down the stretch with all going extremely well until Student Council ducked out suddenly immediately after crossing the finish line. He still managed to gallop out five-eighths in 1:01.62.
Hey Dell,
Congrats on your Delmar prize and I thought you may find this DRF article interesting based on your astute Student Council observation that stated: "He's hot ... he doesn't like the heat... he looks ready for a nap." Your buddy, Greg
