Parlay/Let it ride play

Think I've mentioned this before but a good way to make money on BC day (now days) is playing the place and show pools. A fun bet and one thing I always do is a place or show parlay, start out with $20 and go as far as I can. Had it up to some serious $$$$ in '99 at Gulfstream before Captain Steve in the Juvy killed me (Anees was my 2nd choice, arggh!).

Here's my play for Friday:

$20P Ventura, S Consequence, S CS Silk, S Visit, S Santa Teresita. If I were to go on I would go P Roshani, S Becrux, and P Medjool.

Saturday: Not starting in the Marathon! S Fleeting Spirit, S Lewis Michael, S Precious Kitten, P Midshipman, not sure if I'll play Juvy Turf or not but if I do S Donativum, S Fabulous Strike, P Dancing Forever or S Out of Control (will have to see the odds), and S Fairbanks.

It's a lot of fun if you want to give it a try.

Ozzy, I had my best Breeders Cup day ever with place and show bets back in 2001. A simple $5 to show on Two Item Limit in the Distaff got me started.

Imperial Gesture, Squirtle Squirt, Forbidden Apple, & Spook Express(RIP) just compounded my little $5 investment.

Money comes into these Breeders Cup pools, and it's spread out. The place and show can yield some really good money with underbet horses that hit the board.

If you can find them, they're golden!
