...are you more inclined to single Curlin in the Classic, or more inclined to toss him? All three of today's main-track winners had previous victories over synthetic surfaces.
If Curlin can transfer his dirt form to the synthetic surface, the race is clearly for 2nd. If, however, he's a mere mortal on Pro Ride the way he's a mere mortal on grass – a very real possibility, seeing as how there’s sometimes a strong correlation between grass ability and the propensity to handle a synthetic track, you can make a case for any number of these. Go Between loves synthetics, looks like 5-million bucks right now, and will get a ground-saving trip. Tiago -- he of the Smith/Shirreffs/Moss good juju -- had an excellent prep in the Goodwood. Duke Of Marmalade, Henrythenavigator and Raven’s Pass are all top-shelf Euros with impeccable connections. Student Council has been training up a storm and has the fastest T-Graph number of anyone in the race not named Curlin. And Colonel John’s connections seem to like their charge so much that they’re bypassing the Classic with Well Armed, opting instead for the Dirt Mile with the latter.
It certainly appeared off the pace and in the middle of the track was the place to be. The exception seemed to be one of the Goldolphin Distaffers (Cocoa Beach I think) who made a run up the rail.
Was it just me or did Consequence have an absolutely brutal trip in the Juvy Filly Turf. I grimmaced as all my cash bounced around, couldn't find a path, checked, checked........empty when finally clear but understandably so.

Yeah, she pretty much got buried. Never had a chance to do much running.
"Going at least 4 deep in the Classic.Going 4 deep in the Turf and 5 deep in the Juvy Turf.
Taking Lute as a single in the sprint. He wins or he's off the board-keeping it simple there and thinking he runs to his works and throws an A race."
It sounds like you may have cashed. I hope so. Good call on singling Lute.
My pick-4 tickets relied heavily on the system Crist describes in "Exotic Betting," with A, B and C horses. My all-A ticket -- the one I played most heavily -- looked like this:
$6: 4 x 2 x 4 X 2 (the final two were Colonel John and Go Between)
My second biggest ticket used the Euros in the final leg:
$3: 4 x 2 x 4 x 3
And then I had various $1 tickets, using B horses like In Summation and Street Boss in the Sprint with my A horses in the other races.
On normal racing days, I usually keep things simpler, playing just one $1 ticket (say a 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 or a 4 x 4 x 4 x 4). But on big days -- big fields, big payouts -- I tend to swing for the fences and use the multiple-ticket approach. As you can tell, my investment in yesterday's pick-4 was large -- maybe the largest series of bets I've ever made -- but it's just been a great year for me, and my bankroll allowed for it.
