I enjoyed the event very much actually, though I probably suffered my worst Breeders Cup ever at the windows! What makes that particularly embarrassing is that it was in my own back yard! Ugh!
There was one particular high moment for me though, when I got to be a part of the Pegram and Crowd celebration of Midnight Lute! He was hanging at Nola's along with me and tons of other people, and when the race went off, I realized that he was standing basically right in front of me behind the boxes. I got to watch the race with him, and it was one of the more exciting moments I ever had! He and I and everybody else around us were screaming our bloody heads off!
Drinks all around for everybody afterward......including me!
I wish I would have bet the horse.....but I just couldn't take that short of a price on a fella with all the issues he had. I'm so glad he won, though! I was so happy for Mike, and it was just a heck of a lot of fun!
