Anyone know what Walsh's plans are for this guy? Think he gets back on the track at Del Mar? I had little respect for him as a 3yo, but he certainly caught my eye with his sprint races earlier this year. Hope he makes it in the gate in the BC sprint (or perhaps the dirt mile).

Unfortunately Jay I think it's a longshot for him to make any BC race. He hasn't run since 2/21 when he won the San Carlos at Santa Anita and doesn't have any published works to date. I haven't even heard whether he's on any sort of comeback trail or not. Too bad he's such an ouchy horse because when he's healthy he's a real nice sprinter.

Thanks Jason. The only info I could find stated that he suffered a minor quarter crack after the San Carlos, but they were optimistic he would be back on the track soon, and they even suggested he might be pointed to the Met Mile. It would be nice to see him show up at Del Mar, but in this case no news is probably not good news.

There was this little blurb about him 2 weeks ago:

"Trombetta's timing may be perfect. California sprint stakes winners Georgie Boy and Johnny Eves are not part of the Triple Bend picture. Georgie Boy is returning from a foot problem and is expected to start at Del Mar, while Johnny Eves is out with injury."

Hopefully he gets a few works in soon as Del Mar is right around the corner. Nice little horse.

I'm late jumping in here, but I have to say that I love Georgie Boy!

There's something so fun about a horse that HAS so much fun doing what he does! We see them from time to time.....and it doesn't always have to be at the top level. Da Stoops had it, Too Much Bling had it, War Emblem (when he got his own way) had it. I'll never forget what War Emblem looked like in his run down the stretch in his Haskell win. He just looked like a little guy going "wheeeeee" like he was a kid coming down a waterslide!

Unfortunately, it does appear that Georgie Boy has a case of bad feet, and it's such a shame, because he is just such a delight to watch when he runs. Thankfully, he's a gelding, and he has connections that will just nurse him along, and give us a chance to see him when he's right. They won't run him unless he's good to go.

I love him, and every time I get to see him run will be a treat. Another Kona Gold?......probably not. That's like looking for another John Henry. But we can enjoy the good ones while we have them.

And Georgie Boy IS a good one!
