He impassively observed the natives going about their business at the oasis as the two of them approached.
"Earth? Someone named a world after one of the four classical elements? How odd. None of those names are familiar to me, however."
He glanced at her, watching as a desert breeze stirred her hair.
"But I am sure that there are many similar such structures, given the vastness of all Creation. But tell me, what uniquely distinguishes this now dead culture from any other? Is there anything special these people, or you, hope to find?" |
