| She awoke as if from a night of pleasant dreams, the happy and perfect dreams where you see unicorns play in the clearing of an expansive forest. The sun had been shining on her face a couple of minutes before she became aware of it. She hadn’t been sleeping, but had spent the entire evening lost in a black room of indeterminate size to all her thoughts and emotions she had long since been keeping locked deep in her heart, buried thoughts she had always refused to indulge in. There wasn’t anything particularly special about last night. At least nothing she noticed, but it was the first night she got a taste of all the things she had either long been craving or things she only thought she wanted. A new world was opened for her, and the end of the evening found her retiring apart from others both physically and mentally. It wasn’t the first time she had retreated within herself, but it was the first time she went in to find some answers and not just be self-indulgent. Oh sure, in a way getting answers was being self-indulgent, but it was more than that. She sought out the answers because it was time for those questions to be answered. She still didn’t know all the answers, but this time the journey mattered more than the destination. So she prepared herself for the day, donning clothes and one of those ‘grin and bear it’ smiles where you know things will work out in the end, it’s just the ride is going to be a little on the bumpy side. She left a note written in her not-so-great but not-so-bad handwriting as a token of her passing.
To those I care about,
I am here. For the first time in awhile I’ve taken time to lick and heal old wounds instead of covering them up. I love and miss you all, and I look forward to seeing you all again. I hope all bodes well.
Take care,
Emaleth Lucraine
She quickly looked over the note a final time and chuckled softly to herself. She was terrible with words, but she knew they’d understand everything that was behind her simple note. Hanging up a bag of her signature goobers, she turned away with a true smile. |

He walked up the boards as he was awake once more, he didn't had much sleep but he was fine, he noticed the letter of ema and smiled, now here was one who had been gone for awhile, he wondered when she would drop by the sanctuary again and see her friends, he took his pen and quickly wrote down his answer
Ema,
it's a pleasure to see your writing once more, it has been a while since you have graced us with your presence, I hope we all will see you soon again and talk of where you have been and what you have been doing
if you are still around when you get this message I am in the sanctuary, looking for those who are my friends and now my family
Rashis al Faij
He grinned and placed the letter on the board, whisteling as he walked off, somehow the events of the past few days placed him in a good mood, now that ema was back as well | |
