i have a friend who is using one for her primary phone. it works fine. a few customers are using it with their broadband connection and yes, if you're doing too much peer to peer you'll be able to hear the incoming calls but they won't be able to hear you (i think). it's completely dependent on the power available to the device from the usb hub and the available bandiwdth.
traditionally, i think 64k is needed for a voice chat.
