Response to Re: Cyberbroadband |
| We got Wildblue a couple of years ago and it was terrible until about 6 months ago. Our original installer was some computer company in Vinemont and he was totally incompetent. The day he installed our system he showed up right at dark. He spent maybe 20 minutes hanging that stupid dish on the eve of the house. He stated that night it was just a temporary install and he would be back in a few days to install it right. He never came back and my internet would work once in a while at very slow speeds.
I called him a hundred times and he wouldn't answer the phone when he saw who was calling. I called Wildblue many times and they said they would get him back out to complete the installation. They never did get him out. I used someone elses phone one day and he answered it and said he didn't remember me but he would come out for 95.00 and redo the job. I told him what he had originally said and he denied it.
I got my sister-in-law to send her son from Atlanta who works for the Wildblue in Georgia and he mounted the dish on a pole in the ground. He charged me nothing and I haven't had any trouble since then. These people around here who are having trouble with their systems is because these jacklegged incompetent installers don't care how long it works after they leave. They're interested in one thing and that is the check you give them when they do the install. Once they get that they are done with you.
No company in the world has ever been cussed as bad as I cussed Wildblue for two years and the whole time it was because our local expert is a complete dud that needs to be picking butterbeans for some local farmer rather than attempting to install a satellite internet connection. I think Wildblue needs to hire people with an IQ a little higher than a tomato as this guy from Vinemont must have. Maybe Wildblue got smart and fired him.
My advice if you get Wildblue, Hughesnet, or Starband is be sure you pay extra and have them mount the dish on a pole in the ground with cement around it. It will not work for long if they mount it on the roof or the eves of the house. Also steer clear of the computer company in Vinemont because that guy is totally incompetent and a shyster to boot. |
