Response to Re: Weber A VII

For sure, it is a rare bird.
This is what the Italian review says about it:

Type Weber A VII Ethiopia I
power plant: Radial Walter Venus, 7 Cylinders, 115 Hp.
Max speed: 185 km/H
Cruising speed: 150 km/H
Span: 10,35 m
Lenght: 7,32 m
Height: 1,95 m
Ceiling: 6000 m

It is supposed to be a derivative from a German three seats aircraft: A VII, designed by Wilhelm von Ness but extensively modified to fit to flight and maintenance conditions in Ethiopia. It was built in Ethiopia following artisanal methods (so the review says) and was the personal aircraft of the Negus (it is not mentionned whether the Negus piloted this aircraft himself); it was captured in May 1936 in Addis Abeba. At the time the reviaw was published, it was on exhibition at the Museo dell'Aeronautica di Vigna di Valle.

As soon as I am equiped with a scanner, I shall send a better picture, promissed !
